Mari smiled and shook her head. "None what so ever. The joust isnt my favourite event in truth. I watch it because I must."

"I actually tend to agree with you, I would prefer to fight in the melee. But the joust is where most of the attention comes from and as such I compete in it."

"I guess you are right, but I like the Archery enough myself, I find the rest so pointless, more people manage to get hurt in the others and for no good reason but for glory."

[Lord Donal Stormshield]

Jon looks down in response to her comment, "From personal experience people getting hurt are just accidents on someone's part and those who did the deed feel dreadful afterward."

"I know, I didnt mean to be so...thoughtless. I meant nothing against you Lord Redfort."

"It is fine, it is my way of agreeing with you. nasty unwarranted things do happen in melees and jousts, sometimes I think they should just give us padded wood to work with to make it somewhat safer, but that would just make the events boring and pointless for spectators and the contestants alike."

Mari nodded in agreement.

"It would be safer, but less people would want to compete."

Jon laughs at the absurdity of his comment. "Yes tournaments would become a rather boring event in that case, so It is just better to keep it as is and just have us men try to be more careful in the way we beat each other senseless."

"Ah, I wish that all wars and such could be settled without the mindless deaths of all. It would be so much better if all weapons were padded and men could beat eachother into submission."

"If wars were settled without the deaths of the leaders, the leaders would still have their minds set on war and would start another one to regain the dignity the pride that he lost loosing the other one."

"But so many suffer and die for nothing. If they could fight then the leaders be taken with no bloodshed there would be less broken people in the realm."

"Yes but now we are getting into the realm of technicalities, we are to ingrained in our type of war already to change it now, if we tried then we would be long dead of old age before it finally happens."

"I suppose that is right. I just think it so pointless, of course.. I have the weak heart of a woman."

"Women's hearts may be weak in the terms of bloodshed, but I have to say they may be fiercely loyal and full of love. Take your daughter there." Jon points to Adelene who was asleep in her mothers arms, "I have a feeling you would do absolutely anything to protect her."

"Without a thought." Marianne said. "As with any other in my family. We may have our arguements and disagreements but I would do anything for them, especially my husband and children."
