"I was hoping you'd surprise me with a stack of poetry. My man wants to have a go with you in the training yard, you smashed in his face pretty good the last time, but he swears he is better now. I'm still alive thanks to him."

"Ah, well... I'll smash his face in again, if you like," Aerion said, noncommittal, "and what made you think me a poet?"

"I'd like you to give him a challenge so he can learn and better protect me," she said with a sigh and a roll of her eyes. "The quiet, dark, mysterious ones make good poets. They have to express their feelings somewhere."

"Am I quiet dark and mysterious?" Aerion chuckled, "It is kind of you to say so." he picked a spec of fuzz of his white cloak, "I had worry I'd grown boring, sitting around in court policing women."

"Maybe a little bit, not much chance to show personality when you're standing around." She watched him adjust his cloak and remembered when Aiden took a piece of fuzz off of her dress. "I'm sure it's interesting hanging around women and their idle chatter. But we're doing a little bit of that right now." She said with a giggle. "You are quiet at least. And what do you think of me?"

"You've grown up a bit, it seems. Not so wide-eyed and fanciful. If you came before the King I'd watch you. You're the kind of woman as can pull a dagger and actually mean to use it." Varner said. It sounds vaguely like a compliment.

"You'd watch me huh? And you think I use daggers?" She chuckled. "I knew I should have expected something unique from you, most of the others have said how much beautiful I have gotten, and how graceful I seem. "Oh your beauty has multiplied for every year that you have been gone from court"." She said in a dramatic fashion.

"Well, you've still got a thin figure, it would be hard to hide anything much larger than a dagger," Aerion replied with a smirk.

"Where would you expect me to hide such a weapon? I've been hoping to grow taller but the Gods wouldn't grant me that favour."

"sleeves, are best, usually, for men. If you needed to get in somewhere tight, I'd expect you to have it in your garter, between your thighs. Most guards would fear to search you there, although its slower to get to, so that's a risk."

"Wouldn't I walk funny if I had a dagger attached to my thigh? I kind of fear having anything dangerous down there."

Aerion laughed, "Not if it was properly fashioned. There are ways to do it, and ways not to do it."

"I'll keep that in mind next time I go out and buy garters." She looked down between her legs and smooth out her dress. "I'll send my man to look out for you in the training yard in the morning. Would you like to walk around a little bit?"

"If you like," Aerion agreed.

She didn't like his evasive answer. "Only if you want to, I wouldn't want to keep you from training or standing at attention somewhere."
