"I'm not sure, I'd like to see if there is anyone who would be worthy of my favour. And I look forward to watching the joust."

"Me too. There's something oddly attractive about watching come at one another with long sticks," Joanna said with a laugh. "It sets off the most primal instinct in both men and women, don't you find?"

"It seems so, the men ahorse seem extra handsome and gallant and they compete for favours of women to crown a queen of love and beauty. The joust is about men as much as it is about women."

"It's far more about the men than it is about us. I knwo I would joust if I were a man. Do you have any favourite knights or lords to win as yet?"

"I'm not sure, I will take a look at the lists and see if any lord or knight will want my favour. I wish Ser Aerion well though, he seems to have a rivalry with Lord Ball."

"It would be interesting to see what would happen if they came across one another in the lists," Joanna mused. "As for me, I will be cheering on my brothers."

"Prince Maekar and Lord Steffon? I don't think they are much for jousting." She smiled and took a drink.

"Perhaps not, but if any of them does it's only fair I support them. I wonder if Daemon will compete, though I have a suspicion his opponents would 'let' him win."

"That would take the spirit out of things for certain. It would certainly take wagering away as well." She giggled.

"True enough. Daemon probably won't even compete, anyway."
Joanna shrugged.
"I'll have to save my favour for someone else."

"Do you think he will like that? I imagine he would get awfully jealous.."

"Perhaps, but what is a lady to do if her chosen knight does not compete?" Jouanna counted. "I'd sooner give my favour to someone than no-one. Wouldn#t you?"

"Perhaps. You think the situation is that insecure then?"

"I don't know, I haven't seen you two together, but it is different for a woman in a relationship than a man as you know. Men are free to take lovers but for women it is frowned upon. I only urge caution my princess, I do not mean to offend."
