Joanna shrugged. She wouldn't argue with Morgan more than she must.
"I know you believe that I have stolen Daemon from you. That was not my intention. I don't truly want to be Queen. Originally, I only agree to lay with Daemon because he holds my heart's desire, and I had reason to believe that he would grant my desires only if I granted his. And what he desired was...me. And a child of my blood, as it happens, a child which I am now carrying. Daemon wishes to marry me firstly because I told him that I could not consent to be his mistress forever. Secondly, it would not be fair to name the child a bastard. So, he has taken Aegon the Conqueror for his model. I won't tell you what you must already know."
She paused for breath and to let the information sink in.
"Morgan, I have come to propose a bargain of mutual benefit to us both. I believe I must mary Daemon now, for the child, but if you will help me persuade Daemon to grant me my heart's desire - the dragon Valyria - I will give you the child I carry to raise as your own and I will step aside. Once the child is born I will forsake all claim to him or her and I will not allow Daemon in my bed again. I swear it by the old gods and the new."

"I would drown your little monster born of incest in the bathing tub," Morgan replied, speaking quietly.
But it was not quiet enough. Aerion crossed the room in half an instant and slapped the Queen hard across the face.
"The king warned you to watch your mouth," He growled, before stepping backwards again.
Tears welled up in Morgan's eyes, before disappearing behind a glazed expression.
"Thank you princess," she said next, holding her cheek, "I will consider your suggestion carefully."

Joanna frowned. She hadn't liked what she saw.
"Morgan," she said. "Let us put the question of the child aside. I'll raise him myself or give him into the hands of another who I can trust, whatever seems best. The rest of my offer still stands."
She looked coldly at Aerion.
"No true knight beats a woman, and most especially not one he is sworn to protect. If I hear of you laying hands on the Queen again you will regret it."

"King's orders," Aerion shrugged, as if he found the issue boring. Aidan starred off into space.
"Thank you Princess Joanna. I will consider your offer carefully..." Morgan said, her eyes gazing over her shoulder at the exit.

Joanna glared at Aerion.
"Perhaps those orders shall be rescinded shortly. The Queen and I may be estranged at present but that is no excuse to beat her. She deserves better than that."
She turned back to Morgan.
"I will do what I can to ensure that you are treated fairly. I do not understand why Daemon would give such cruel commands to his Kingsguard. I would be grateful if you would send me word of your decision. I hope the rest of your day will be pleasant."
As she turned she gave Aerion a last furious look warning him that this was not an end to the matter.

Aerion's small black eyes burned into her, and than he smiled.
Morgan looked at her feet.

Arya hummed to herself as she adjusted some of the flowers about the room. She thought the servants here must not be used to arranging flowers properly, but she did not mind doing it herself. Eventually Aryanna plopped herself next to the Queen and gave her a hug, "Is there anything you need my queen?"

Morgan gazed at Arya with sad eyes, then gazed at Ser Aidan near by,
"no, thank you Arya... I'm just fine."

"I am not permitted to leave her grace's side." Aidan replied, his eyes softening at Arya, "I vow not to speak of it to anyone. Anyone."

Arya accepted his response and smiled lightly, she took the Queen's hand in her own. "I trust Ser Aiden's word. We can speak freely my Queen, I'm yours."

"I have been trying to hold myself together, for you. I am still scared that I will be attacked. Remember when you'd ask Aerie to peel blood oranges for you, and she'd always make a face? I always thought that was funny."

"I miss her too. Did you miss me when I was gone? Only having Becca around must have been tough at times."
