Jherek's Quarters

[Viea Greyjoy]

Aalina choked on a chuckle when she saw the knives.

[Marie]

Cassana squealed at the sight of the knives and hid behind Eleyna.

"Mother says you shouldn't throw knives," she said.

[Jherek Doryn]

Jherek removed his cloak and replaced the knives inside it.
"Well, I have to abide by her wishes, even though I do throw those things for a living."
He smirked at the involuntary reference to his other profession.

[Viea Greyjoy]

"Its alright Cassana. Nothing will happen to you." Aalina said calmly.

[Marie]

"Knives hurt," Cassana said nervously, looking to Aalina. "I cut myself on a knife when I was little."

Eleyna said "Can you throw something instead of knives, Master Doryn?"

[Jherek Doryn]

"That I shall."
He walks over to Aalina, forcing four shiny iron balls into her hand.
"Warm these up for me. Something tells me you could use the practice."
He returns to his original spot in front of the girls, holding a golden ball.
"One ball, contact juggling. Watch as it never leaves my hand."
He proceeds to move his hand about, and - true to his word - the ball stays completely attached to his left hand.

[Viea Greyjoy]

"I know sweetheart, I was there." Aalina said to Cassana.

[Marie]

The girls clapped vigorously.

"Very clever!" Eleyna cried.

"I want to do it too!" Cassana said. "Can girls be bards?"

[Viea Greyjoy]

"I think your mother and I rather that you didnt Cassie." Aalina said with a smile.

[Jherek Doryn]

Jherek replaced the one golden ball in his pocket and picked up two smaller balls that appeared to be stuffed with sand.
"Yes, they can be, but I doubt you would like to take that path. You are ladies of the realm, and you don't want smelly old men in an assortment of bars staring at you, wondering what you'll do next."
He proceeded to juggle the two sand-filled balls in one hand.

[Marie]

"I'm a good singer," Cassana said with all the confidence of a six year old. "I don't want to sit and sew all day long. Eleyna can, if she likes. I'd rather sing and dance and have fun all the time."

[Jherek Doryn]

Jherek caught the two balls and dropped them.
"And I hope that the realm remains peaceful enough for you to do that, Lady Cassana."
He turned to Aalina.
"Could you toss me three of those, please? Nice and high, mind you. I'm a juggler. I can catch them."

[Viea Greyjoy]

Aalina threw the balls at him.

She tucked her legs under herself as she watched.

[Jherek Doryn]

He caught the three balls neatly in one hand, and began juggling them, the soft slap of metal on flesh permeating the room.

[Marie]

Eleyna and Cassana applauded.
