"I trust you and Daemon and Marianne and Maekar too, but I am less certain of Steffon and Rodrick. Those two aren't like the rest of us. I heard you went after Marianne. Did you find her?"

Daeron nods. "I did. She and Tybolt are safe in a manse belonging to Milo Bettley."

"We must make him do so," she said. "I will not have our sister forced to live in the shadows because our brother is suffering from too much pride. Where is Steffon now? Is he with the Court?"

"You think a woman's might?" She asked. "Not mine, though. Steffon and I quarrelled when he wanted to force Marianne into marriage with Lord Oscar. I doubt he has forgotten."

"Definitely not." Daeron replied. "Anyhow, it is late and I had best get some sleep. I shall speak to you on the morrow."

"Yes, do that. My first priority is dealing with the aftermath of the attack but my second is getting our sister home where she belongs. I miss her."
She hugged Daeron.
"Good night. Sleep well."

Daeron hugged her back and walked off. He paused a second and half turned. "You talk about it like just another fact, dear sister." He said quietly, before leaving.
