Sojen finally gathers his men, quite a bit a way from their original camp. He admonishes his men for retreating before being given the order.
Later, he sends men out to ask nearby villages and keeps as to the location of the God's Eyes.

Sojen and his men are near the southern border of Frey's lands, when they come upon a burned out village, still smoldering.

Sojen commands Din to take five men and scout about the premises, to see if there is any sign of life, ill or good.

Din returns after awhile, with a bruised and battered looking woman in torn septa's robes.

"Mygar! Bring this women fresh water and bread. Two Toes! Bring some salves." Sojen called, moving to the woman.
"What happened here?" He demanded, checking to see if there was anything seriously wrong with her. [Beginner Perception]

It does not take a brilliant maester to realize the woman has been savaged remorselessly. She has many bruises on her face and upper body, and her small clothes hang about her in tears.

"Can you speak?" He asked, looking her over. "Who did this to you? Did they carry a charge?"

The woman opens her mouth, but no sound comes out... her tongue makes a clucking sound. It has been cut.

Sojen assesses the damage done to the village, and gives his men quarter to take anything of value.

Anything that had been of value was long gone, or burnt to a crisp. Two of his men did manage to find a skulking tomcat, and promptly skewered it.

They make camp that night at the village, but Sojen sends men out to scout for more word of anything pertaining to the God's Eyes, or which way they went from here.

After asking around, his scouts indicate that they are told that the bandits went north, where they apparently struggled with Lord Frey's remaining men, defeated them, and pressed onward.

Sojen makes various expletives, but turns his force North.

Connor Tully and his men come upon the force of Northmen. They see the men and spread out , halting their march. The northmen soon find themselves surrounded with angry-looking Rivermen on all sides. Connor rides out from the line, sword in hand and ready to kill at the slightest provocation. Sojen can clearly see the banners of House Tully behind Connor.

"Hail." Sojen calls and slows his horse. "Sojen Manderly, Heir of White Harbor. It looks like you have us surrounded." He said calmly, anticipating another attack.
