Quentyn nods, considering that. "Thank you for your help, Captain. That will be all."

Rivers bowed, and turned to walk from the room like he was on the field.

Quentyn browses expense reports until Hurston Waters, Captain of the Lion Gate, arrives. Waters is shown in by the guards at the door.
"Captain Waters," Quentyn says, "A pleasure to finally meet you."

Waters bows deeply to Quentyn, "It is odd that we have not crossed paths before. I have dined at the Red Keep often. Even twice with the King himself." He offered a warm smile.

Quentyn smiles in return. "It is odd. Things have been busy lately, what with the Hand's murder. Though I have heard the Watch has kept busy in my absense as well." He looks at a paper again, even though he has already read the whole thing. "What can you tell me about Ser Euric's unfortunate demise?"

Waters still smiles, "I am afraid I am not involved with that investigation. Prince Maekar seems to have grasped the reins very firmly. I do know that men dressed as Gold Cloaks attacked, and murdered Ser Dayne in his keep."

Quentyn nods. "Prince Maekar is a capable man. I am sure he has the investigation well in hand." He sets down the paper. "Tell me about yourself, Captain. How many years have you been with the Watch?"

"Fourteen years, and every one a golden honor." Hurtson replied with a smile, "I am a loyal servant of the crown, and eager. I have been told I am quite witty, but I am far to humble to brag of it. I enjoy attending the court when given an opprotunity, and now I hope the King will spend more time here since the city is rebuilt."

Quentyn smiles. "I confess I find the court diverting as well, though with His Grace moved on to Storm's End I imagine it shall be some time before the court returns to King's Landing. Have you ever commanded a battle, Captain Hurston?"

"Several small ones before joining the gold cloaks. I was a sell sword across the narrow sea in my rebelious youth." He smiled brightly.

"Thank you, Captain. That will be all," Quentyn says, and after Waters leaves Quentyn sends for Captain Kettleblack.

Kettleblack slouched in, and half bowed to Quentyn, "Lord." His voice was dry, and bored.

"Just Commander, Captain Kettleblack," Quentyn says. "I understand that Ser Euric Dayne's manse is in your jurisdiction. What can you tell me about the circumstances surrounding his murder?"

"He was killed by the Three Hill gang because he got in their way." Kettleblack answered.

"In their way to what, Captain?"
