Daemon rose, and studied her, "If this was my sister of old I would say I am being mocked. With this new version I am less sure." He laughed, "But if this was old Jo, she would know all I did was make sly comments."

She pulled a face at him.
"I don't mind sly comments, except when I am the butt of them. It's cruel of you to slander my honour, even in fun."

Daemon wagged a finger at her, "I think if you had bedded a king that could only enhance your honor. Especially a monarch so mysterious and imaginary." He laughed.

Daemon laughed, "I remember sharing a bed with you." His smile grew large. "It was the last night before mother took Maekar to the Eyrie for the first time. The three of us and Mother were up too late listening to stories, and you and I fell asleep in each others arms. I remember I woke up on the floor freezing because you had stolen the blankets, and kicked me from bed."

That made her laugh
"I ahd forgotten. was the only girl, thoguh, I had to learn to stand up for myself. I don't think it counts though. Lots of children share beds with their siblings before they are old enough to know better."

Daemon nodded, "It all becomes clear, my original statement bears true. The mysterious king you have bedded from your past was me, and it was completely innocent."

"What is so mysterious about that?"

"It was a mystery to you. Moments ago." Daemon winked and sat back down. "Leave if you must, but do not dare cast the blame on me."

She smiled.
"I will stay if you want me to stay, otherwise I shall leave you."

Daemon waved her out, "While I always desire your company I have too much work. It is a burden. Until tonight's feast Jo. I will miss you sis."

Cuy is shown in to see the King soon after his arrival.
The King looks tired. He waves for Gerard to speak, as he studies his parchments.

"I appreciate you seeing me, Your Grace. I understand that you have many things to attend to, so I shall be brief," Lord Gerard speaks and remains standing.
"The Far Reach has been without strong leadership, without a Lord Paramount for to too long. There are superstitions rumored about the position, as I understand it, even amongst my fellow lords. There are those who are afraid of what misfortune may become them should they take on the responsibility, but they fail to see an even greater misfortune looming in the distance for their lands.
"I am not a man who subscribes to superstition, nor am I a man to stand by as his homeland, leaderless, falls into disarray. I ask you bluntly, Your Grace, for the responsibility of the Far Reach."
