"Well no,. I'm quite worried, I have to say. I wish Marianne had told me what she was doing. I'd go looking for her but I don't want to draw more attention to her situation just yet."
Joanna sighed.
"The only reason she did this is because Steffon denied her a choice in the matter, which goes back to my original statement."

"But she chose to go away didnt she, she wasnt forced to stay or go, to me that seems like free will. Maybe she said somthing to you but you thought it unimportant at the time. The signs are always there Princess, the crone guides the way always."

"I know. We talked quite a bit about her situation but I still wish it had worked out differently. This is Steffon's doing, him and that Lady Wylde. Were it not for them Marianne would still be with us. She wouldn't have had to exercise her 'free will' by running away."

"But she chose to do it." Aalina said softly. "She puts the rest of us women folk into shame that she had the courage to do this and that we do not,"
She spoke for herself to, she was tired of the Seven and their rules and wanted to learn her fathers gods.

"Well, I have never actually wanted to run away but I have often regretted the fact that I don't have much real freedom. I'm married to a man who does not attempt to impose his will on me but there can't be many women who can say the same," Joanna said. "I'll wager that's why many of them enter the Faith, though I know you were raised to it."

Aalina bit back her reply.
"Those who choose it are lucky." She said a little bitterly.

"I never thought so but I suppose they must be, considering your place."
Joanna frowned.
"Did you never think to ask for marriage instead, before you took your vows? It's quite enjoyable if you get the right man. I know you couldn't have got a high lord but a landed knight or a small lord might have done for you. Even some lord's household knight, I suppose. Woul you have chosen the Faith or marriage, you had been given a choice between the two?"

"I was a child Joanna. I never got the choice." Aalina said, colder then she intended. "My future was planned before I could speak properly. At least others dont have that. My father was a traitor, and now I reap the reward for it."

"Yes. That wasn't right, to do that to you," Joanna sighed. "I feel for you. Is there anything that you are lacking?"

Aalina stiffened a little. "No, nothing." She said shortly.
"Are you coming Princess? It is time for the children's dance."

"Of course," Joanna answered. "I hope you will tell me if there is anything I can do for you. "
She waited for Aalina to instruct the girls.

Aalina more grimenced then smiled and took Eleyna's hand, asking Cassana to watch carefully at what they were doing.
Eleyna had improved greatly in her dancing, which was clear to anyone. Purposly Aalina missteppped halfway through to see if wither of the girls had noticed.

"That's wrong," Eleyna said.
"No it's not," Cassie argued.
"Is too!" Eleyna said.
"Girls, stop fighting," Joanna said.
She smiled at Aalina.
"Now you can explain."

"Eleyna, why was it wrong?" Aalina said calmly. "Cassana, why wasnt it wrong?"
Aalina waited fro the girls to explain.

"Your feet were wrong, septa," Eleyna said.
"Were not," Cassie countered. "It looked fine to me."
Joanna sighed; she was glad she had a septa to deal with these problems for her.
