Joanna hielded her body behind Jon as she looked at the boy. Fltstered at being caught out - it was one of few things that really did fluster her - she said "Tell the queen that we will be ready in just a moment. "Two minutes.

The servant nodded, and ducked his head back outside, most likely scarred for life.

Joanna looked up at last, pushed Jon's head awy and laced up her bodice with a sigh of regret.
"We seemed doomed never to spend any time together when we are at court," she said. "Next time, I believe I shall lock the door and servants be damned."

Jon nodded vigorously, and reclined into the little day sofa. "I suppose you'd best go see what she wants." He said, straightening his tunic.

"Alirght," Joanna said. "Wait for me."

"Good day, Morgan," she said brightly when she saw her goodsister. "How are you?"
The was no trace of frustration on her face, only a dazzling smile.

"Good morning Joanna dear, I was strolling nearby, and had half a mind to take some dinner, and I thought, you know who would be good to join me, Joanna," The Queen says pleasantly.

Is that all? Jon and I could be dong something far more interesting right now if you hadn't come along. Joanna continued to smile despite her frustrations.
"That was very sweet of you, dear sister. I am grateful for the invitation," she lied. "Have you got together a number of guests or will it just be you and me?"

Joanna frowned. She misliked Morgan's insinuations that she was expected to take second place to her; Morgan was no true dragon.
"It was kind of you to think of me. I was right about Jon, though. He was not best pleased when I said I was to stay at Court. He is going back to Runestone."

"Oh, well that is most unfortunate. Not everyone appreciates being at court like we do Joanna," The Queen said. "I think I'm going to have a boiled egg for breakfast, as well as some fruit. What would you like? I have the absolute best chef, Daemon made sure of it."

"I will have the same of you, with a little bread," Joanna decided. "Should we invite Jon to join us? I rather think he wished to spend some time with me before he leaves for Runestone and it would be churlish of me to go off without talking to him first."

The Queen wrinkled her nose up, "I'm sure he's something better to do then listen to womanly gossip," Morgan said, "but if you insist."

"Well, I will ask him them, unless you had something truly important to say that is unfit for male ears?"
Her tone was hopeful; Joanna loved gossip.

The Queen smiled slyly, but did not say anything.

Joanna entered the room where her two elder daughters played and studied and slept whenever they were in the city. Eleyna and Cassana were having a sewing lessen with Aalina, their septa, while Silvana played with a cloth doll on the floor. Joanna smiled as she saw them. She was clothed in riding leathers and looked rather smug.
"Good day, Aalina," Joanna said. "How do my daughters progress with their sewing?"
