"That much, I assure you, will not happen. I would sit at home on my thumbs before I break my oath and take up arms against the Queen. Though my position is precarious, as neither would I wish to take up arms against by brothers or father," he pounded his fist on the table in a rare show of anger. "Dammit, Euric, I can't make up my mind."

Euric looked the man in the eye, but in a calming way. "Family is important, but so are friends. No one is as cursed as the kinslayer, though some can grow to treat friends like kin. I don't think I can help you with your desision... it is for you to work out." He scratches his newly grown beard. "I just hope you can make your decision soon."

"I will ride with you, Euric," Owen said, scratching his chin. "Riverrun is not out of the way, in any case. I've fought along side you folk too many times to run away now. I cannot promise into the future, but the ride to Riverrun will give me more time to think on this. Besides," he said, with a slight smile, "ravens are so often lost," he crumpled up the letter and tossed it into his brazier.

Euric smiled. "It is an honour to have you with us, Owen." He said, clapping the man on the shoulder. "Now wash yourself and have some food, we leave before sundown."

"Aye," Owen nodded, smiling as he realized how bad he must look. "I think I'll take your advice on that count. I'll give the order to have my men break camp immediately," he said, standing and stretching. He'd been sitting nearly most of the day, deep in thought, and his muscles reminded him of that fact.

Euric smiled and gave Owen a friendly nod. "I'll see you outside the gates, Ser." With that he left the tent.
