"Everything's fine," Dacey smiled. "The usual?"

Symond cannot help but hear Lettie's lengthy tale.
"That story, m'dear, absolutely demands a song for it."

"That would be a very offensive song to some ears," Dacey put in, although she was still smiling. "I don't need the Princess of Dorne's ire all over again, Symond."
"You should sing of Mally's love," Lettie said, ignoring Dacey's glare. "Dacey knows all of her secrets - like the man Mally loved, who bought Mally the whorehouse and how Mally became the Queen's lady-in-waiting. But she's not telling. Dacey, just tell us who Mally loved."
"That's enough out of you," Dacey snapped, passing Seth his drink.
"But it can't hurt now, she's dead, isn't she?"
Dacey merely glowered. "No songs and no love stories. We have to clean up the mess she left behind."

Randal wanders in, with the same expression on his face as if he had just walked in on the Small Council. He gives a quick smile to Dacey and the others, before strolling up to the bar and taking a seat.

Symond grins at Dacey's glower. "Tis your inn of course, m'lady, but I find a certain amount of controversy always helps to draw in the crowds. It's quite the story, truth be told." Symond frowns slightly. "Though perhaps more romantic if this Mortimer fellow died for his love. Mayhaps he will in the song."

Seth accepts the glass of warmed cider gratefully. "Well, I must be off, It was good to see you again." The Commander took his leave.

"It was Benjen Stark, wasn't it?" Lettie said for the whole bar to hear, her shrewd question coming with most unfortunate timing. "I knew it!"
She turned to Symond. "But love story or no love story, I'll help you with the song Symond. I can write a tiny bit. Dacey can't."
"Ooh, yes, Mortimer should die for love in the song!"

"Fine," Dacey snapped. "But if Princess Emelia comes hissing, I'm handing both of you over to her."

Dacey saw the Lord Regent Lannister, and hurried over to serve him. "Welcome, my lord."

Randal gives her a smile, "Thank you, I am uncertain which the best drink would be. Why don't you give me a couple, I will of course pay for them." He sighs and then continues, "My days have been long, and I need a few drinks every now and then."

"Our most popular drinks are the Courtesan and the Scarlet Harlot. Why don't you try both?" Dacey smiled, and one of her girls began to mix the drinks. "I am sorry my lord has had a hard day."

The cocktails were slid across to him. The Courtesan was a golden liquid, like the brandy that was its base. The Scarlet Harlot was red. "Well, well," Dacey grinned. "The colors of our best drinks are the lion's colors too. You were meant to get drunk today, my lord."

Taking note of the new guest, Symond begins playing a light-hearted song about Lann the Clever, the hero from the Age of Legends who formed House Lannister.

Lettie grinned to herself. Symond had certainly learned fast. It was a good thing. A talented singer who could flatter all their guests was exactly what they needed. She made a mental note to save some good beer for Symond after his day's work.
