"Since your network of spies is composed of just me, I would recommend hiring them." Isabella replied, "They may not be interested, after all we have no reputation right now, but if they agree we will be stronger. And we can keep their darker natures in check."

Euric sat silently for a long time, his eyes shut. When he finally opened them he looked at Isabella. "Good, we will hire them."

Isabella studied him for a second, "You are truly hesitant. Would you prefer if they were dead? I can try and arrange that. The difference between the two is not so great that I could not change my mind if you were adamant." She smiled wryly, "I am afraid you are going to have to be our conscience, I do not think there is anything I would not do for you."

For some reason he was taken aback by that but did not let it show. "I will need to think about that." He thought for a moment. "You said earlier on, 'first question for you'... are there more?"

"Yes there will be more." Isabella replied, "This is a complicated process, and we will have many decisions to make as we go forward."

"I'm sorry, of course." Euric answered quickly. "I didn't mean to seem impatient. I do realize there is a lot to learn."

Isabella smiled at him, "There is no hurry, this is better down at a cautious speed. Too many things go wrong, and our people end up dead. This is my first time as well, and I want to do it right, and that means slow."

"Okay, so we have started to cover Thatcher's old agents... now to think of what can be done against Lannisters' people. Now doubt they are good but he has to have a weakness."

"Lannister's network is silent as death." Isabella replied, "He is very cautious, and uses it as juts a passive listening system. Lannister has always used the Black Witch when attempting covert operations."

"But isn't she supposed to be working for us now?" Euric asked. "After all, she is her Grace's mistress of whispers."

"Correct, I was referring to before the last Battle when she was still his loyal confidant." Isabella replied, "To be honest though I always wondered whose side she was on, even after we started to serve the Queen."

"She certainly has an untrustworthy byname." Euric commented. "But that isn't my only cause for suspicion... anything Lannister has or had his fingers in stinks to heaven. If only the man were dead..."

Isabella nodded, "Is that a goal we want to work for?" She asked slowly.

Euric considered it for a long moment. "Yes. The man is a thorn in her Grace's eyes... and mine. With him the alliance of his three other lords will crumble." Euric sighed. "At least I hope so."

Isabella nodded, "Then we will need not just spies but agents. And very talented ones. I know of three attempts to kill Lannister, and he is extremely careful. We may want to attempt to hire Thatcher's men. They are very skilled."
