Lord Lannister was helped into the room. He bowed to the queen, and then sat down.

She klooked at himn through gritted teeth, saying nothing for a long time. Eventually she said only one word and that grudgingly.
"Lannister."

"Your grace. It is a pleasure to see you. You are looking amazingly well today." Tyberion smiled at her, and waved, "Have some wine. I have brought several delicious vintages from the Rock."

She considered him thoughtfully then shook her head, putting a hand over her mostly full goblet.
"No thank you. I have brought my own supplies from Kings Landing. You are welcome to share mine, if you like."
The wine she'd brought was Dornish red and she drank it watered down. Rhaenys wanted to keep a cool head for this interview in particular.

His servants proved him with a goblet, "I will take my own, not because I fear you poisoning me." He winked at her making it clear that is what she feared from his wine, "But because it is no doubt a far more tasty vintage then any you could provide. I have a nose for discovering hidden treasures, and have applied the talent to locating wine for quite some time." He drank and smiled pleasurably at the cup, "I hear your three children are beautiful. I have commissioned a statue carved in their honor that will be sent to King's Landing as soon as it is complete."

She looekd suspiciously at him, hating his sycophancy. W "Why would you do that? You've never shown any love or fidelity for me in the past. Why would you care to honour my children when you will not honour me?"

"My Queen, I must admit I do not know what you mean." Tyberion replied, "I have done every service you have requested of me, have I not." His smile was sardonic and large.

"No," she said. "I asked you to come to Kings Landing when I did. You failed to do so."

"Are you sure?" Lannister sat forward looking concerned, "I am afraid I never got that message. The Raven must have been distracted." He smiled confidentially at her.

"How convenient," Rhaenys said. "What about your son? I asked him to impress upon you the importance of your coming to me as I wished you to do. Did he fail to do so?"

"He did. I do not think he even returned to the west before I left." Tyberion replied, "Unfortunately our paths have not crossed since then, he must be enjoying his new wife." He chuckled knowingly.

"Perhaps he is," Rhaenys answered. "So...you claim ignorance of my orders. I find it strange, however, that a man of your talents, with as many friends as you claim, would not learn of his liege's desires if he put himself out to do so."

"You overestimate me, your grace. I am just a cripple with friends, nothing more." Tyberion's smile was leonine.

No, she thought, you are a cunning old man with shit for honour.
"it does not matter to me that you are a cripple," Rhaenys said. "That does not change what is in a man's heart and I do not trust you."
