"I'm a political puppet. Being her sister only makes me be able to choose between lords or heirs she thinks would make a good allies." Ariadne said, keeping her smile on her face.

"Rebel." Euric replied amusedly. "I am sure there is something you can do about it."

"I forget, you are Dornish." Euric answered with a smirk. "Not to cause offense. Though surely your husband will wish you to be loyal to him?"

"But so are you. Dayne." She bit her lip. "What he won't know, won't hurt him, right?"

Euric laughed. "It would take a keen man no doubt." He led Ariadne away from the dance floor and retrieved his wine. "Anyway, enough of such a touching subject. What do you spend your time doing at Sunspear?"

"Where is your betrothed anyway..?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. She had heard something about 'her being sent away for safety', but nothing more.

"Away, for her own safety." Euric replied with a sardonic voice. "Apparently a man of my stature is not fit to protect a young lady..."

"Oh well. I've never been in love, therefore I don't quite know what you're talking about." She raised her glass, however. "Let us hope she'll have a quick return."

Euric smiled. "Yes, though my glass is empty." He looked down and shook his head. "Well it is the instinct of every man to protect a lady. And when that opportunity is taken away then... well, it doesn't matter."

Ariadne felt the urge to roll her eyes so she drank the rest of her wine instead. She put away the empty glass and felt a flush creeping up her neck.
"How about a walk?" she asked, turning to the lord Dayne again.

Euric's mouth twitched slightly. "I'd be glad to accompany you." He finally said, linking arms with Ariadne, all the while wondering if this was one of Aurora's ploys.
