"My destruction project you mean?" Talyn said, smiling wryily, "The noise is driving my lady-wife insane, but it continues apace, and so far I am pleased. God's know why, but it is just as expensive and time consuming to tear a wall down as to build it up." He shrugged, "Still, I look forward to its completion, and a new day for that old castle."

Obara laughed. "i, a bodyguard? You want my sister Jeyne for that, except she's busy elsewhere. How are you, Gaspard? It's been many long years since childhood, and Jeyne and I spent most of them in exile." "Busy. I found someone else to be my bride, as you can see." Trystane in his lap looked up at her, probably wondering who she is. "I can indeed," Obara answered, laughing. "It was all for the best, then. If it hadn't been for Jeyne's exile she wouldnt be serving in the Queensguard now and I wouldn't be chief lady-in-waiting to Her Grace. Iwould be pleased to introduce you to the Queen if you wish it."

Oswell smiled, "I am glad to hear it. The work at Riverrun is slow going. Walls needs to be torn down before they are built, we had only just repaired the foundation and the drawbridge before I marched west. I had left a set of instructions laying out what I wanted before I left. Riverrun shall not be so easily taken as before., I can assure you of that."

"Well, I fear it may be all for nought in any case. History teaches us that the great lords and keeps have fallen through treachery, not siege. We are better off with strong walls around the hearts and minds of our servants and men-at-arms than with brick and mortar."

When Queen Rhaenys arrived, she was clothed not in the customary dress but in a low, flowing tunic down to her knees. It was black silk, slashed in the sleeves and bodice with red satin and the three-headed dragon worked on the breast in red. The dragons' eyes were tiny beads of jet. Her breeches were red, her boots knee-high black leather. She wore a gold and ruby necklace and bracelets and the cloak hanging from her shoulders was black velvet with the red dragon worked upon it. Her hair hung loose to her shoulders, topped with the crown of her rank.

Talyn stood immediately as the Queen entered, and surveyed the room to catch the expressions of others.

"I fear you may be right. The stone and mortar do no good if the men serving within its walls are not loyal servants. It is one reason why I make it a point to know every man that serves under me, and they are few enough right now. Less than enough even to hold the walls. But I will look to the well being of my own keep when the Cult has been defeated. If every place was like the one I came across, it will be an easy, if horrifying, task."
As the Queen arrived Oswell fell silent, taking in her strange dress. Oswell was not surprised, he had learned that after what he had seen nothing would ever come as a surprise again. Oswell stood up beside Talyn, proud to be among loyal men.

When the Queen had entered and it was respectable to sit again, Talyn did so.
"What's next for the Lord of Riverrun?" He asked the Tully curiously.

Oswell sat back down beside Talyn. "For now what the Queen commands. She has asked me to join my men with Ser Euric, I assume after the weddings are over we will strike out for the Cult once more. I hope to have a bride soon enough, though it seems to girl I have my eye on has gone missing."

Talyn nodded, with a grim smile, "Yes they tend to do that," he said, with no trace of irony. As for me, I suppose it is back to Harrenhal when the festivities end."

"Back home huh? Had enough of the fighting I take it? I don't blame you, if I could put down my sword and leave it there I would be glad to. But it seems some men will never let that happen. And so we fight on."

Talyn shrugged, "of course if ordered to I would march with the army, but as so far, I'd received orders only to garrison Harrenhal, and so that's what I'm doing, although I'll confess that if I'm asked to remain in place until my child is born, I wouldn't complain."

"I don't blame you, staying home would be a welcome duty. But there is a place for us all, and you have quite the construction to over-see. Perhaps I will visit Harrenhal on my way home when his is all finished, it will be good to see how the castle will have changed."

Talyn shook his head, "I beg you, wait for it to be completed, so that you can marvel." he smiled wryly.

Owen smiled as he saw the Queen enter. He found her dress peculiar, but he was sick of waiting, and was looking forward to having the whole ordeal over with.
