Urri blinked and came to his senses. He groaned loudly as his numerous bruises reminded him of their existence. "I don't really know" he replied.

The guard smiled back at Morgann. Then he boxed his ears so hard that Morgann's head was pounding. "You fucking little highborn. Fuck this. I'm taking him to Lord Piers' house." He grabbed Morgann and dragged him down the stairs.

Rhae rubbed her head. "I hate that boy. Now my head hurts."

Urri winced as he sat up "I'm sorry that boy hurt you"

"It's all right," Rhae noticed his arm in a sling. She ran to get her nurse and the twin princes' wetnurse. They tsked when Rhae admitted what had happened, and tended to Urri.

"I hope I never see that boy again," Rhae said.

A tall, thin boy with silvery blond hair looks in the door. "Where is Petra?"

"She's here," Rhae pointed. She recognized Brynden's cousin.

"I hope you don't get in a fight," she said, looking anxious and angry at once. "Three boys just got into a fight!"

"I fight when I must," Yohn says, and points to his hatchet. His very real hatchet. His face is calm. "So will your husband."

Rhae's eyes grew round. "Are you already a knight?"

"Of course Brynden will be a knight," she added happily.

[Lord Rhodri Arryn]

"Knight?" Yohn snorts. "I'll never be weak enough to kneel. The Fire Kissed Man will be one of my followers, though."

Rhae was confused. "So are you...a septon?"

"Who is the Fire Kissed Man? Brynden has red hair."

"I am a warrior. The Fire Kissed Man will be a warrior too. He was born in the Snow, already burning."

"Oh," Rhae looked up dreamily. "Will he be a handsome warrior? Will he have a big sword and wear silks and take me to masked balls?"

It was hard to believe. Brynden was a tiny boy who liking to pull people's hair and bite everything.

"He will go to Weeping Wall and stare into the cold blue eyes of death and laugh," Yohn says. "He will commit a wrong for which all will condemn him, but would do it twice or thrice with every soul born into him, for it was right."

"He sounds brave," she said, trying to sound happy. Then her mouth trembled. "Will he ever be angry with me?"
