"I don't know," Rhae's face looked a little blank. "I don't remember him. My new mama is kind of scary, though. Brynden's mama. She tries to be nice, but she's really scary. I just avoid her."
"I'm sorry your brother died." She looked sad.

"He's not dead!" Urri said, slightly panicked. "We thought he was but he came back. Who is your new mummy? I really miss mine" to his horror, Urri's eyes begin to fill with tears and he turns away, blinking hurriedly.

"Oh good," Rhae said, looking relieved about his brother.
"Brynden's mama is..." Rhae hesitated, looking almost afraid to talk. She glanced at Petra, as if worried her friend would tell on her. "Lady Aranya. She wears swords and axes and she speaks all sharp and fierce. When she gets angry I get scared. But she doesn't shout at me. When I was sick she tried to help." As an afterthought, Rhae added, "And what's worst is that she's has a baby in her tummy." Rhae made a sick face.
Rhae hugged Urri. "Where's your mama?"

Urri sniffled a little "Back on Pyke. She wasn't allowed to come with me here. My dad did something bad and the King is punishing me. It's not fair!" he yells the last sentence angrily.

"I don't wanna go in here! These kids are stupid!" A voice wailed, before being deposited nearby. A tall, fleshy child, with a badly shaven head stood there glowering at the group before him. He looked to be about ten or eleven, and easily outmassed them all.
"A bad day for you guys." He announced.
