Emelia Martell gathers a small force of her spearmen in King's Landing for the melee. She also assigns Timm for the joust, all the while regretting that there's no knife-throwing competition for her to humiliate the local thug population.

Aethan Stone awaits the tourney on the edge of the tourney grounds, rather than in a pavilion, though he takes the opportunity to stuff himself at the feast.

With the city partying every night and the two main social events over - the marriage of Lord Tyrell and Princess Caitlyn and the Royce Masquerade Ball - preparations for the tournament begin in earnest.

The incoming lordlings and knights crowd the inns of the city. The Vale contenders alone fill up House Avalon and the rebuilt Merry Maid.

Callen sat outside in the courtyard of the Red Keep at a table. He was busy dealing with several merchants, determined to sell their wares at the tourney. Next he decided to go over the schedule of the tourney. First an awards ceremony for the heroes of the war in the North, special guests included Balor Greyjoy, Tallahar Tyrell, Barret Tyrell, Jorah Lannister, Randal Lannister, and several minor lords and knights, as well as a substantial amount of smallfolk who proved themselves in battle. Then the tourney would begin, Callen had planned for a melee, an archery contest, and of course the joust.

The tents of the Vale contenders go up on the tourney grounds. A great pavilion with a red castle painted on it and its flags belongs to Lord Tommen Redfort. The tents of other Vale lordlings go up: the purple tent of Harry Belmore, with its silver bells, the ravens and hearts of Casset Corbray, and many others.

Parts of Randal's force slowly pulls out, as the feud between Randal and Tallahar has come to an end.

Still in the city due to the threat of Braavos, Blackwood men vastly outnumber the retinues of any of the other lords. While no new action is taken, large amounts of soldiers have been seen watching the Tyrell tents.
