"I don't think a lady in waiting to the queen is in any position to expand her whore house," said Shajura with a whisper and a rather evil smile. "I will, however, offer to buy you out at a fair price." Mally gave a tinkling laugh. "And I suppose a Princess' lady is not allowed to either? Don't be ridiculous, Shajura. The Queen will have no objections to me running a private business. I'm afraid I can't allow you to buy my house, sad to say. I am offering to pay whatever price you ask for your house, however."

Piers still smiled at Tilda for a moment before continuing on with Aerie, "His previous employer decided that a beating, a warning, and exile would serve the man. And I immediately made him an offer. He was eager accept, and wanted to travel here to take up service in close proximity to you my dear." Piers laughed, "So I sent him to Sunspear. I have need of some good men in the south. I assume that you are done with the man. I can warn you that he has intentions for you of the romantic variety. Foolish boy." "Did he?" Aerie noted vaguely with an amused smile at Piers’s arrangement. “I heard he had stolen something from his previous employer. I would be careful to see that he doesn’t treat you with the same regard, but I suppose you already have him regurgitating all he knows of his prior master’s dealings.” This time her eyes observed him with an incipient reproach. Somewhere, in the dark corners of her brain, she wondered if this meant she could summon the audacity to confide her revelations to Horas; she doubted it.

"Yes he sings, and I mean to have the jewelry he took from the rock." Piers grinned fiercly, more snarl then anything. Then his eyes shot past Aerie to the door, and the anger was wiped away by concern.
Elena Plumm had entered the Queen's Ballroom and greeted the Queen warmly, the Queen did not even seem to notice the other woman, just waved at her. Elena sees Piers staring at her and walks across the room to his side and lays a hand on Piers shoulder, "I am better Piers. Stop worrying." She still looked sick and slightly pale, but her red hair still shone.

“I suppose I’ll be amused by watching you try,” she remarked with firm impartiality, but the softening of his gaze suspended her satirical words. She watched a pallid woman with richly red hair approach them, a flickering shadow of the robust woman Aerie had once seen. She recalled what she had been told of the woman’s loss and her subsequent grief. “Lady Elena, it has been a while since I have last seen you,” she began, skirting evasively around the topic of her murdered husband.

Elena smiled at Aerie, but a slightly quizzical expression, "I am sorry have we met. I have been a little flustered recently and I can not seem to recall your name."

Aerie smiled innocuously. This was new. It seemed everybody she had never met knew her name, but this poor frazzled woman whom she did know could not recall meeting her. “It was at the Feast of Remembrance, in Casterly Rock. I’m Aerie Blackwood.”

OOC: Can it be that Aerie Blackwood is learning tact and sympathy? *theatrical gasp*
Mally ate some lemoncakes, and pronounced them very good.

"Of course, I have heard of you." Elena's smiled widened and she looked much better, "Do you live in King's Landing now? I am sorry for you loss, I know what is like to lose a father."
Piers stared at Elena with plain and unadorned concern, until she glanced at him, and then his customary smile blazed across his face. But uncharacteristically he remained silent.

Ooc: No way, it’s her sinister intrigue at work. Nobody’ll see it coming until Aerie usurps Callen and takes over KL.
Aerie noted Piers’s blatant worry and spoke in his silence. “Yes, I suppose so. Sometimes I’m not quiet certain myself.” She smiled dismissively at her sympathies and maintained, “It was hard, but I’ve managed to move forward with my life.”

"I suppose I do too now. So what do you do to fill the hours. The Library seems to have been pretty well looted during the war, and the archives in the city burnt. I can't seem to fill the hours of the day." She glanced at Piers and snickered, "I do not love court inrigue and gossip as some do."
Piers chuckles too, "It is a shame, you would be a natural at it if you should even a hint of interest. You have a mind made for puzzles." He bows to Elena.

“I do whatever there is to be done, what I had done before tragedy stuck my family. There has to be a purpose outside of forgetting, lest the hours stretch into days and the days into years.
“I don’t find this court intrigue all that fascinating myself, but I think Lord Piers is beyond redemption in that sphere.”

Piers laughs at Aerie, "For you to involve yourself in intrigue would be like a swan rutting with the pigs. Leave us to our swill dear Aerie."
Elena laughs at Piers words, "Yet you constantly prod me towards that muck." Looking back to Aerie she adds, "What I used to do was read. My father always said 'That girl has the whole Rock memorized, because she doesn't look where she is walking with that book in front of her face'" Elena sighs at the happy memory. "But there is nothing at all to read here. I do not suppose you have a library of interesting writings?"

“Your metaphors have always been captivating, Lord Piers,” she smiled knowingly, but she did not elaborate as she had once before.
“Not here,” she admitted to Elena, surprised that the lady was an avid reader. Their childhoods contrasted like black and white, but she could not dislike Elana's disarming manner. “Perhaps Lord Piers can utilize his squalid guile to find you some?”

"I could, easily too." Piers replied, "But I will not. I have already told her, she has spent too much time sitting in her chambers and breating stale air. It is time to get out and explore. I have told her that every time she talks to a new person or walks five miles I will purchase her a new book."
Elena stuck her tongue out at him, "Some times you are an ass Piers." Looking back to Aerie she asked, "Does your family try and coddle you like this. It is next to impossible, I swear."

Emelia Martell finally arrived, escorted by her usual gaggle of guards, ladies in waiting, petty nobles and combinations of the above. Almost immediately, she moved to the high table escorted by her young daughter.
"Your Majesty," she said to her, genuine warmth coloring her tone as she curtseyed. "It is good to see you again." Nymeria followed her lead in curtseying, but said nothing.
