Amyrio chuckled. "It is my pleasure to be meeting you Thorold," he said, shaking the offered hand.
"Now then, I hope you will excuse my curiosity, but I am wondering how it has come to be that maesters are leading an army? It is to my understanding that maesters are sworn to be neutral in conflicts so that they may be best advising the lords they are serving."

Thorold nodded, "We were... maybe still are. But when the lords of the Reach were marching north to defeat the others, the cursed Ironborn invaded. They took the Arbor first, and then Oldtown. They left us alone because of our neutrality, but they were most inhumane to the rest of our citizens. We began to lead a resistance, which then turned into an outright war. We were finally able to take back Oldtown. But the Reaving Menace still holds tight to The Arbor, and Three Towers." He wiped his brow and shook his head.

Amyrio made an annoyed face. "This is a disgrace! I am sure the queen will not be letting this stand when she is finished with Thatcher!"
"But why are you here, near Harrenhal, when you must be defending your lands from these black-hearted Iron Men?"

"We wish to have a discourse with the Queen. Lady Bettley, who has a finer understanding of Courtly intrigue then I, suggested it would be wise for us to take a small portion of our force to this Lord's Bazaar." Thorold sighed, "Apparently we are on sale. There is that saying from the West about Buyer Beware." Shrugging he added, "Also the Dornish were marching a significant force just through our lands, and some of my Lords insisted we keep a close watch out for shenanigans."

Amyrio nodded, "I am understanding. Would you like to be speaking to me as a representative of the queen, or would you be prefering to wait for Her Grace's pleasure?"

"What is your title or rank, sir?" Thorold asked studying the man.

Amyrio sighed softly, "I am afraid to be saying I am not a man of great title, less than you are deserving to be sure. But there are fewer of those in the queen's force than you might be imagining, after the north..."
"As to rank, my queen is using me as a diplomat, I have already been speaking with the Lord Vaith of the Dornish camp on her behalf."

"I will wager that was tedium spiked with occasional nails of delirium." Thorold shook his head, "You can tell the Queen, we want the duty of Oldtown. The city has basically been ours for long years, and we wish to continue in this capacity. We feel we have earned it."

Amyrio chuckled lightly at his jab at the Dornish, "I will not be sharing the details, but you may be correct."
Amyrio nodded when he named his terms. "May I ask first if you are knowing of any remaining Hightowers, whose claim this may be undermining? And also when are you saying the duty of Oldtown, are you also meaning in concerning its lordship over the lands of the Far Reach? Or are you speaking simply of the city itself and the land which is historically being ruled directly by the Hightowers?"

"Petra advised me to claim it all and then be slowly backed down to just the City. Because that is all I want. And We understand we would have to pay taxes to the Lord just like any other liegemen." Thorold replied, "It is just that we have come to an understanding that the Lords must have known for centuries. That to fight, and bleed for something, it makes it yours in a way that is not quite explainable. And that is how we feel about Oldtown now. Though with all the damage wreaked upon the city it is mostly New."

"I am appreciating your honesty, Thorold, and I am believing the queen will see the sense in your words, though I am making no promises. If a Hightower is remaining to make a claim to Oldtown, will you be willing to be considering some form of shared arrangement in concerns to the control of Oldtown?"

Thorold shifted uncomfortably, "I am unsure of how that could work."

"As am I, I am merely trying to bring my queen a reflection of your feelings which is being as accurate as possible."

"Well, I do not know if we could live with that." Thorold replied.

Amyrio nodded, "very well, I will be bringing your words to my queen. Is there anything else you would like me to be relating to Her Grace?"
