Steffon rides near the head of the pack though falls behind to ride along side Alyssa, "Forgive me for showing you a poor evening last night. I didn't expect it to be interrupted, as it was." His eyes stayed ahead on the trail while the first reaching rays of sunlight stretched up over the horizon. "I must confess I do not feel comfortable sleeping in the present company."

“I know what you mean,” Alyssa smiled. “We really should be allowed leashes.” She turned when she felt Prince Steffon riding up beside her. Pulling away to a safe distance from Xavier, she regarded him with humor.
“I don’t think you are the only one who feels that way,” she replied wryly, glancing casually in Keath’s direction. “I’m sure it was mere coincidence that the second you received news of your assassination failing, a man who you had no reason to love burst into your presence, accusing you of an assignation attempt he had narrowly escaped. Hmm, he sounds treasonous indeed.”

Steffon pats the neck of his dark horse as he converses with Alyssa, "Now my dear lady, I think if I had the intent to honestly have someone assassinated, I have no doubt my target would indeed be dead. I wouldn't employ a simple stranger who I've no idea what his qualities are to do such. If I wish someone assassinated, I'd prefer to be the one doing it." The prince's words are spoken in a rather normal tone, as if talking of the death of another person didn't concern him at all and made it a point to ignore for now, what he thought to be sarcasm from Alyssa.

"So I'll take it that you were jesting about the assasination attempt that failed yesterday, my lord," she continued in her dry manner.

Steffon leaned in close to Alyssa, "I've no doubt that there was an attempt on Kennos's life, however I was not behind it..." His eyes fall to the man Willem Carron who has shown a devout loyalty to the Prince, "But this Willem who has accompanied me for merely three or four months...It could have been him. He takes my honor to heart, and feels that if my honor is wounded, he must avenge it. Silly."
Willem road ahead of his Prince near Erik, allowing Steffon time to 'flirt' with the lady as that is what he assumed the Prince must be doing. Oh how horrible he felt, him a loyal follower letting his master take the fall for his own idiocy, and the Prince...Never letting on that Willem had been behind the whole thing. The boy hung his head, ashamed, and should have kept his voice down the night in the apartment of the Prince, or spoken louder so the women would have known the full truth instead of a few words of the hushed testimony.

“Really?” Alyssa intoned diplomatically, thoroughly unconvinced. “Then I hope the trial favors the innocent, my Lord. It is kind of you to protect your man from the brunt of the law.”

"If the Prince must be defened it would be by the Kingsguard and I would hopeful take the honor I gave a vow to protect all the blood of the Baratheon line and I shall keep that vow from all Bastard." As Erik says the last word he glances at Kennos.
