Callen arrived back at the Red Keep, already construction of the building that would house the Large Council was taking place where the Dragonpit once stood. He grinned like a small child when he saw how King's Landing bloomed right along with the flowers of spring. He visited Anya first, and gave a joyful laugh and smile when he heard that she was pregnant. Finally though, he had to get settled down to business. He invited several people to the small council chambers along with the usual masters to discuss the situation in the North.
With them was Tallahar Tyrell, and Balor Greyjoy, rumour had it that Barret was already sailing North . Callen took the head of the table. "News out of the North has been little, and what we do have has been grave. There is talk of rebellion, and when a messenger was sent to Moat Cailen he was shot. I suggest we send more men North to scout, but in the meantime an army, or several armies should be raised just in case." He turned to Rhodri, "What's the situation in the Vale? I've heard that raiders were raising hell there for a while."

Stark pale and uncomfortable ever since he heard the news of the rebellion leans forward and says, "My king there are only two ways to scout north of the neck, one is by landing forces on the shores of the north, or by having the Reed's help us through the neck. There is no other way to pass Moat Cailin."

Balor lounged in one of the chairs. This was his first visit to King's Landing and though large, it stank and was full of soft southrons puffed up with their own importance. He was unimpressed.
At Callen's comments he smiled crookedly and said "There is'talk' of rebellion. When your emissaries are shot on sight, it's more than talk. As it happens, I may know slightly more of the North than you realise." Balor paused to let that sink in and continued "I was approached, indirectly, by Lord Wull who offered me lands in the North if I would support his claim there or at least confound your forces." he smiled at the looks on their faces. "However, in the spirit of our new 'understanding' I did not take him up on his offer. Bear that in mind, all who question my allegiances."
He looked at Stark and said, "You probably expect this but know that Lord Wull has taken Winterfell and holds your family hostage, along with hostages from many northern lords. Those who do not support him are made example of like Lord Bolton. His entire family was tortured and killed at the gates of Dreadfort and the last I heard, it was beseiged. It has now more than likely fallen and Lord Bolton with it. White Harbour is seized, though the Rills and Barrowlands are as of yet undeclared for Wull. He has many of the northern lords, some by coercion, the rest by greed on his side along with three quarters of the Night's Watch as well as some wildlings and free folk. As far as I know, the Wall is completely undefended."
He paused again to let that sink in. "Oh, and Lord Wull has signed an agreement with some of the Free Cities. Their ships and mercenaries are already on their way..." he said, picking at his teeth.

Jamie Bracken stared at the Greyjoy with a fiery heat, "Mayhaps, the King loved a recap of what I have already told him. If you want to waste our team with further reviews Greyjoy could you do it outside?"
Stark shifts uncomfortable, a almost haunted look on his face.

"Bracken is it? You're far from the Wall it seems. Do you have your Lord Commander's permission to be here?" he said mockingly "Perhaps Lord Stark should have you executed as a deserter?" he sneered dismissively.

Bracken rises heat flashing in his eyes. But Lord Stark speaks before the First Ranger, Benjen stares at Balor, "He was ordered here to warn the king. Mind your manners, both of you. You are guests here."
Turning his eyes to the king, Stark says, "My King I have recieved a message from the North. Wull said he will kill my family unless I return alone to Winterfell. I am ready to go, I beg your permission. I can not leave with out your blessing."

"It would be stupid M'Lord Stark to ride by yourself take go back with a army by cousin is landing in the North and i am raising a force to lay siege to the Moat, the return alone would be death and you are the Lord and that is what takes main."

ooc: Kill Stark's parents? If his parents are alive, why is he Lord of Winterfell?

"I understand that Tallahar, but that is my family. I will do what I must, I have failed them too many times already." A little of Stark's old fire burns in his eyes.
ooc-That is fixed, and I can not stop laughing that I did that in the first place.

"So you would put your family before the safety of the Kingdom and His Grace that is not a thing a loyal lord would do. If it is revenge you want ride with me when I go to War but do not go by yourself."

"I am asking the King's leave am I not. And you should watch your manners Tallahar. Rudeness is a despictable act." Stark frowned harshly at the Warden.

"Truly i meant no insult Lord Stark i only mean that the safety of the Kingdom is far more important then your family." Walking over to Benjen, Tallahar places a hand on his shoulder, "I am sorry to say it Benjen but if you go they will have your Family and Lord of Winterfell, you must not go."

Balor smiled at Bracken's bluster and turned to Lord Stark. "If you go to Winterfell, as Wull suggests, what do you think will happen? Your family is only lives now because Wull thinks he can use them as a bargaining chip should all else fail. By delivering yourself to him you do not save them, you condemn them. When he has all of you in one place, by executing you all he may be able to end the Stark line permanently. Once that happens, who will the other northern lords rally around? Do you wish Anya to be the only Stark left, milord Benjen? Because, I assure you, she will be if you go North alone." Balor shrugged "At least that's what I'd do to you in Wull's position" he smiled. "Why not try and mount a rescue attempt before such foolishness. You, after all, should know how to get inside Winterfall's walls without notice if anyone does..."

All were surprised when Edmure Seaworth walked into the room. "Balor is right, we could rescue them..." An awkward silence filled the room.

"We can certianly try. And beg that of you if I am not given leave to travel north. But I think hostages are useless, when the man who loves them does not follow commands, and they are my wife and children. The Others take Wull, he killed Bolton's wife and children, he will not hesitate to do the same to mine." Benjen Stark seems on the verge of tears, the only thing holding him back is his iron will.
