Nodding Jamie spat onto the ground, "I always fucking hated that man. I knew when Aegon sent my ass to the Wall, he would be an fucking awful Lord. I wish I could have named someone else." Shrugging Bracken eyed her food, "We didn't poison you. It is safe."

OOC: Sorry Aerie, but it was for your own good *hug...and punch*
Two days later, they found an escort of twenty Duskendale knights awaiting them, led by young Ser Haviland Ashby. He frowned; he had known Lady Blackwood and a black brother were coming, but where were his liege and lady?
"Lady Aerie," he said, choosing to speak to her because he knew her. "Where are Lord Selwyn and Lady Aranya? I had understood that we were to escort all of you safely to the Council."

ooc: haha, for my own good how?
It would may small difference, she thought wryly. “What is done is done. The Riverlands remain generally united and at peace. You can’t moan over the stupidity of others.” She smiled darkly. “He was an oaf though.” She eyed the rabbit with distaste and shook her head. “I’m not hungry.” The nervousness twisting in her stomach kept her from consuming anything more substantial than water.

Aerie looked at Haviland and smiled consolingly. “Lady Aranya seems to have changed her mind. Her and Lord Selwyn ride for the Vale on business. You will have to settle for us as company for the time being. A terrible blow, I know.”

Bracken wiped at a spot on his blade for several moments, "As much as I hate to admit, the Blackwoods are not destroying the Riverlands." He smiled hotly at her, "I am sure it is only a matter of time though. Bring it all down in ruins."

OOC: Because Bracken is a lusty man! ;D By the way, you can briefly explain things to Haviland.
"Serving Lady Aerie is always a pleasure," Ser Haviland said courteously. "May I ask what business called my lord away?" He felt anxious.

ooc: how is that a good thing?! ;D
“Only if you sweet Brackens decide that it is once again necessary to align yourselves with merciless idiots who plan to pillage and burn their ally’s lands and peoples. Then the Blackwoods would have to take the pains to squash you, but, in all technicality, the blame would rest with the Brackens.” She paused. “It’s a good thing you are sworn to neutrality in these affairs.” Her tone was pointed.
“There is trouble descending upon the Vale,” she said to Haviland, unconcerned with the issue. “There had been a little uprising in the Watch”—her mouth twitched drolly—“and the North is being overrun. Lords have been falling to the “King of the North” and the Vale is a target. Selwyn and Aranya have ridden to its aid.”

Haviland grew pale, but his face was stern and expressionless. "Thank you, my lady. Let us ride with all haste for Storm's End." He motioned, and the armed escort formed up around Aerie and Bracken as a guard. Then, with Ser Haviland Ashby leading the way, they rode hard towards the Kingswood. It would still be a long trip.

"It is. I would never have allied with the Ironborn. If I was still the leader of my house. Bracken would still be a house worth its name, instead of a house one generation from death." Bracken looked at her and snorted on laugh, "And the Blackwoods need the whole damn Riverlands army to crush Stone Hedge."

Aerie smiled endearingly, condescending dripping from her words. “Aww, you are just so cute when you make silly remarks. No wonder the Wall is crumbling.” She pulled Treason to her lap and began wiping at the mandarin garnet that blazed from where the blade met the hilt. “I wonder how angry the King will be with you. The bearer of bad news takes the brunt of the receiver wrath.” She knew Callen would do nothing of the sort, but he probably didn’t.

Ser Haviland sat silently at the second campfire with his men. The two black brothers and Lady Aerie were as tense he was, but Ser Haviland had nothing to say. He sat and brooded. Tomorrow afternoon, they would be at Storm's End.

Eyeing Treason Jamie smiled, "So who did you have to fuck to be given such a fine blade? It was the King wasn't it? I hear he likes his women wild."
"I haven't seen Callen since I served him in the war of Stag and Dragon, but he would have changed greatly to fit your description. And even if the King was going to pull out my eyes, chop of my cock; I would still do my duty." Bracken's eyes burned hot, "Doing my duty got me fucking sent to the wall."

Aerie snorted. “Are you always so dramatic?” First they brag about their duty and then complain about it. She slid her blade fully from its sheath, admiring its length with the warmth of a mother. His words thinned her mouth, and an annoyed gleam lit up her eyes. “I don’t have to fuck my way to success, unlike some people,” she bit back derisively. “This was a part of Heartsbane. The King melted down the greatsword and forged two separate ones. He thought it a befitting gift since I was named the King’s Justice. No fucking involved; and if you think he likes his women wild, then you would obviously have to think he changed greatly. He married Anya Stark. The woman is like a lamb.” Or a wolf in sheep’s clothing, she thought to herself with a smile.

Jamie laughed out loud at the Anya Stark comment, "She is for sure. Wool hides her claws too well."
Bracken looked at her amused, "Are you implying I slept my up the Night's Watch. I can assure you that is not the case." Standing he thrust his sword into the fertile earth. "May I hold you blade? I have never had the pleasure of holding Valaryian Steel." Looking pained he adds, "Please."

“Well, I find that surprising,” she returned with a nasty smile. “I wouldn’t put anything past you.”
She considered his request with some reserve. “Would it truly be wise to hand my valuable sword to man whose house is the enemy of mine?” She allowed him to grovel for a while before finally relenting, taking his sword in exchange. “Don’t try anything stupid. I’ve become rather practiced at slicing off heads,” she said darkly, amused by his eagerness.
