That was Aerie's cue to start laughing incredulously.

Jamie turns and looks down the road, "I have come to warn the king. But first I have to kill some men. You girls had better clear out or get out your cuttlery." Jamie unsheathes his great sword from his back.

Aranya pushed Jamie Bracken away, glared furiously at him, and then whipped around to see the other black brother on top of the smithy. "What is this? You've brought watchmen down here? More are coming? What do you think you're doing? And how dare you kiss me? How dare you!" "Royce, it is going to take a great deal of explanation. Unforunately I do not think I have the time right now. May I kill some men first." Jamie used the back of his hand to whip away trail dust from his forehead.

"Stop speaking in riddles," Aranya said sharply. "You haven't answered my questions." However, she drew her sword - at least it would hold Bracken off - and nodded for Aerie to do the same. Oh gods, Bracken and Blackwood, as if I needed more trouble. She was glad Selwyn had not seen this madness.
"Aerie Blackwood, stop fucking laughing."

"Lord Wull has lead the Night's Watch south and declared himself Lord Commander and King of the North. And those are his men, sent to kill me." He glanced at her, "Enough for now?"

Ten men can now be seen riding into town. They all wear black as well, and are heavily armed.

"Are you fucking joking?" Aranya stared at him. "Lord Wull? How did the Stark bannermen not know of this? How did nobody stop this? How the fuck, Bracken?" She would not call Selwyn from the inn now, it was too dangerous.
Her sword and shield were out, and she eyed the approaching horses. She did not know how many animals she could command at once; she hadn't tested that ability too far.

"If what you say is true, those men will die screaming, right now," Aranya's voice was grim with promise. "Aerie, get your fucking sword out."

Aerie giggled louder, finally managing to control her outburst. “This is a great time for things to fall apart at the Wall,” she commented wryly, eyeing the man with inexplicable dislike. “Do you know this man, Aranya?” She drew Treason while she spoke, unconsciously admiring the play of cobalt ripples that flexed down its blade.
When Aranya said his name, the temperature dropped twenty degrees. "Bracken? In that case, I would not be surprised if the Watch was eaten by a horde of butterflies."

"Yes. Lord Jamie Bracken, this is Lady Aerie Blackwood." Aranya hoped their feud would not boil over, not into this mess. "Lord Bracken commands Eastwatch-by-the-Sea. I met all the Night's Watch commanders when I went north."
"I have to speak to you about this later," Aranya added to Jamie. "First Wendwater, now Wull. Your brothers are insane."

A black brother falls from his horse as Egg shots him from the roof.
Several arrows flash at Egg and he tumbles rolling down the inclined roof until he falls to the ground.
The other nine crows enter the town.

OOC: Smith, tell me if this is okay. I think it should be.
Aranya focused on the horse of the foremost rider, and after a minute of grappling with its mind, she had it. The horse reared and bucked violently. Its rider was so startled that he toppled, only to have his mount rear up and begin pounding him.

The brother rolls away beaten but not dead.
The next rider leaps from his mount and engages in combat with Bracken.

Aerie’s grip tightened on her sword when she saw the nearest horse suddenly go berserk, raging at its fallen rider with demonic vigor. Aranya. She pulled Anarchy closer to herself, the stallion tossing his head restively.

As the third and fourth riders came rushing towards her, picking her for an easy target, Aranya rolled and their horses passed by on either side of her. One horse listened to her and rolled, grinding its rider onto the street; she kicked the other horse as it passed her, and it skidded.
The first rider got to his feet unsteadily as his rebellious horse cantered away, and Aranya assaulted him before he could blink back the dust, her sword cutting at him with massive strokes that came so fast that he barely had time to move. She cut him deep in the stomach, then in the thigh, then in the arm. His sword clattered to the ground, and he lay choking and gasping as she sliced his throat open.
The rider whose horse she kicked then came at her.
