All the wind leaves the criminal's sails as he sees her reinforcements and he breaks, "We were not to kill you, only scare you. Lord Glover said it was to teach you not to wander the dark streets of King's Landing. That is was a favor to your late father, with whom he had been close friends. You see we thought we were helping you."

"And how were you helping her late father when you kidnapped her sister Taria, then?" Jon asks, anger in his voice. "My betrothed."

Aerie’s eyes narrowed. This was new. “And I’m certain you’re not saying this so you won’t be chained to a wall for the rest of your life and have to live in your own waste. Isn’t that a convenient answer to everything: When in doubt, claim that you were trying to help? Dear me, and all this time, the way you were swinging that sword had me thinking that you were set on killing me. You also haven't answered my question. Were you assigned to only me or any Blackwood? Did by siblings not need your helpful warnings also?"

The man's eyes opened wide and he stuttered, "My lord I have had nothing to do with that. I swear I was asleep at home when that happened!!"

"And so you know when it happened, you know that you were asleep. Even I can tell that does not make sense," Jon says, his displeasure still writ clearly on his face.

"It was only you milady. Our contract was to scare you. Not kill, and I do not know of any plots for the rest of your family." He was blinking alot and sweating.

“You’re starting to piss me off,” she growled languidly, wishing she had a better stomach for torture. “I think Jon made a fair point. Would you mind trying to defend your statement with another arbitrarily concocted lie? Otherwise, I think I might begin to get truly upset with you.”

"Her father is dead. Her sister has vanished. And you expect us to believe there is not a plot against the whole of her kin? AND THIS DAGGER -- IS IT FAMILIAR?"
Jon is holding the dagger, bare, close to the man's throat.

"I swear we were only to hurt, in fact Glover said that if we hurt you we would be flayed." Looking desperately at the dagger he adds, "No my lord please.. I swear."

Aerie sighed and tucked her dagger behind her belt. This Glover thing seemed to have hit a brick wall, and as it came hurtling backwards, she couldn't keep the image of squids from her mind. Aranya had thought it was Greyjoy, but the discovery of Glover seemed to have indefinitely disproved that. Now the wildling’s original speculations floated about in Aerie’s head. How did the woman know these things? How had she gotten those men to speak and weep, for the Goldcloak to walk away, for the dog to fight for her, for her horse to listen to her every whim? It was unsettling. It would almost seem…No, that could not be possible, could it? The idea of Aranya being a warg made Aerie feel strangely vulnerable, but she also was beginning to think this would not be the last time she would need to ask the wildling for help.
She turned to Jon. “I did not know you had grown so fond of Taria,” she observed, her thoughts still perturbed.

"And what the hell proof do we have that you work for this Lord Glover to begin with? Why the hell should we believe anything you say?" Jon continues with the captive.
Turning to Aerie, he says, "Taria...I am still getting to know her."

"I swear on my mother's grave, and my daughter's eyes. Please lord. I speak the truth. If you don't believe me, toture Jaeryn. He will confirm everything I said." He begged.

Aerie could not help it. She laughed at the man’s offer, trying hard to stifle the sound with unruly lips that seemed to only partially close. “Jaeryn will love you for that,” she snorted, idly wondering how people so clearly despicable could bear to live with themselves. “Well, I suppose that’s been put on hold for now,” she replied to Jon, checking each man’s bonds as she spoke. “Taria’s not so bad. You worried too soon.”

"You are such an honorless sot that you'd sick the torture on your friend, eh? Is that the kind of coward you are?"

A frantic, paniced laugh escapes the man's lips, "My lord may like being tortured but I do not. If I thought you would leave us both alone I would chose that path. Yet if it comes to torture I would prefer that it be him as opposed to me."
