But Dyther Morrigen wasn't the only one with the same idea. Maekar Blackfyre, having been excused duties by Rhaenys, had decided that a woman's company was the only way to slake his frustrations. It worked, but the next morning he happened to run into Morrigen when both of them were leaving Mole's Town. The sight of the man put him in a bad mood again, though admittedly not as bad as the one of the night before.,
"You," he growled.

"Me." Dyther yawns, satisfied from his last night. "You're looking oh so much better."

Maekar continued to frown. He knew he should apologise but it went against the grain. He was a dragon, albeit on the wrong side of the blanket.
"So, you learned to take your singing to a more appropriate audience," he said.

"If we can survive facing down a race of mythical creatures and still be offended by drunken singing there is something rotten in our states and priorities." Dyther continues riding towards Castle Black, eager to kill someone.

"I spoke in haste, perhaps," Maekar said, spurring his horse alongside Dyther's. "But I have been the queen's companion and guardian since we were children and I will not apologise for thinking of her feelings as well as her safety."

"I'm so glad you're spilling your heart to me. You also attempted to manhandle me. I'd prefer if you chose to ride ahead, lest I return the favor....in haste. I've grown up with myself a long time, having been my own guardian and friend, and I will not apologize for thinking of my feelings."

"Fine then," Maekar answered. "But I swear in the sight of the gods that it will not be I who breaks the Queen's peace another time."

"You'd already sworn not to break the Queen's peace once, I'd thought." Dyther shrugs. "I must confess had I had a sword two nights ago you would now be dead."

"Aye, and so would you," said Maekar. ""The queen would not stand for any man killing one of her close kin.. But never mind that now. You seem to think highly of your sword skills. My weapon is the axe. If you're still angry with me, will you try my paces? Swordsmen are always welcome in the queen's army."

"I've been a member of the KING's army for four years now. And the queen wouldn't kill a man for defending himself lest she look heartless. Her position, I think, is quite tenuous enough, given the total and complete illegality of her position."

"Legality makes no matter. Your king has knelt, ser," Maekar snapped. "But no more. The matter is done with."
He rode away.

Dyther yawns and keeps riding.

A short man, thin, cloaked heavily rides out to meet Dyther Morrigen.
He hails him speechlessly, with a raised hand.

Dyther never slows down. "What?"

The man just reaches into his cloak, withdraws a satchel, and tosses it to Dyther.
The contents jingle metallically as it soars.
