Near Becawyr's mound

[The Smith]

The Horned Knight stared at him, and shook his head slowly, "There was a time when I thought you knew everything." He also drummed his fingers on the table, but he simply nodded.

[The Smith]

The Burnt Man simply looked at the other two. The fingers of his right hand scratching at the back of his left.

[The Smith]

Jak laughed at the Horned Knight, "I know most of the Now, and almost all of the Then." He sighed deeply, "It is the Not Yet that troubles me now." He smiled again, "The guide I had tracked to this moment, but then ended abruptly." He shook his head, "Beside one warning that this all has happened before and will happen again so preparations should be made."

[The Smith]

The Horned Knight's head swiveled to Hill, "Your guide?" He paused for a second deep in thought then added, "I think I see it now. It explains a great deal." His head snapped away, "Did you know everything? Could you have prevented certain acts from occurring?"

[The Smith]

Jak shook his head sadly, "I knew you would be here. I did not know how that would happen." He sighed and rubbed at his eyes, "I was surprised when I figured whose head now sported antlers."

[The Smith]

The Burnt Man snorted, "Give it up boy." He growled at the Horned Knight, "You can not choose you own fate, whether it is to be murdered by former friends, or burnt alive." He scowled, "Our paths led us here, and would you want to be anywhere else right now?"

[The Smith]

The Horned Knight tapped his finger against the table, his head lowered in thought. "I would be here, but I wish others. Just one other really." He growled deep in his throat, "That was flawed from the beginning." His head raised, "No, you are right. This is where I should be."

[The Smith]

Jak reached out and took one of the Horned Knight's hands, "The most beautiful diamond I ever saw was flawed on one side. A damaged gem is better then none, and I am an expert at flaws."
