As the small group of the Faith's Investigators arrives at the Rosby Sept, it is immediately possible to detect that something untowards happened here. The exterior stain glass windows of the building have been shattered, and a small group of brown brothers are busy attempting to cover the open windows with boards. The large oak double doors that are the main entrance have been torn off their hinges and have been staked against one of the building's seven walls.

Igor, rides up to the group of brown brothers and brings the horse to a quick stop.
"Greetings, brother," he says with a wave, "we have been sent by the Most Devout to assist you as you recover from this terrible event."

Brandon looks appalled at what has happened here, but Aranya doesn't take a second glance. She's too busy 'ignoring' Wulf.

"Hullo, I'm Brother Tamerk this is Brother Ryle. We'd heard that they'd send someone to look at what happened, but we thought it would be a Septon, not... so many lordly persons." He gazed over the assembled multitude nervously.

Wulf trots his horse over to Brandon, his hand resting on his axe as if he was ready for whoever did this desecration to jump out and try to attack them.
"Cowards," he snorts, "what does attacking a sept prove of their strength?"

Igor got off his horse, "Yes well, the members of the Most Devout were of varying opinion on who was behind these attacks, and why? From what you have seen do you have an opinion?"

"Attacking one sept proves nothing of their strength, Ser Wulf, but the fact that they attacked seventy-six other septs besides this one, all in coordination, proves that they are dedicated and organized, if lacking in bravery," Lord Samuel said to the ironborn knight.

"Attacking innocent people that are unable to defend themselves against swords and bows?" Brandon asked, his voice betraying a faint anger. "This is the work of the most vile and vicious creatures... I do not dare call them human."

"Humans are capable of many things, young man," Brandon said to the young Greenstone as he dismounted. He walked towards the entrance of the sept to have a look inside.

Inside Brandon can see that the sept has been heavily damaged. The pews have been throw against the walls, to make room for a massive sigil apparently painted on the sept's cobble stone floor. Similar sigils are made on all seven walls. From the look of the the flaky brown coloration, the symbols have been made in blood.
The seven statues of the Gods have each been defaced, mostly by having been beheaded.
On the altar is the scene of the most horror, a man in septon's robes, lays strewn across the altar, dried brown blood pooling at the ground around him. The buzzing of flies can be heard, even from Brandon's position, although through details of the man's death can not be determined from this distance.
"We were told to leave Septon Jon where he was, but we didn't have the heart to not cut him down." Brother Tamerk says, sniffling sadly.

"Cut him... down?" Brandon asked, horror in his eyes. Aranya meanwhile acted the girl and looked away.

Igor choked on the smell and made the symbol of the seven pointed star on his chest, "the Mother have mercy. . ." was all he could say. "Did the violence spread to other parts of the Sept?"

Brandon walked closer to the corpse of the septon. While looking at the sigils in the sept. Using his knowledge of parts of the magics of the world he tries to determine if there was used any in this sept or if the sigils had any magical significance.

"The bastards had him hung... from the rafters.... with his own insides... I don't understand why anyone would do such a thing. There were some other brothers killed in their beds, with their, with their..." he makes the sign of a knife across the throat. "Ryk and I only escaped because we were visiting Antlers at the time. They also killed Brother Mekyard, who was in the library at the time, although I know not why. The library is well beneath the ground floor, and I can not imagine that Mekyard would have even heard the commotion in the Sept above."
Brandon knows that the sigils appear to be runes of the first men, perhaps partially modified, or maybe just hastily drawn in an awkward medium it is hard to say. These specific runes have no relation to any form of magic that the Royce had ever performed, but he knew from a number of similarities to other drawings he'd seen, that they very likely had a magical or occult significance. But without further study it would be impossible to say.

Brandon began to draw the runes on a scroll he had brought with him. "Can you show me the library?" Brandon asked while pocketing the scroll.
