"Milord is too kind", Annelise said as she bowed her head and then smiled at Allyria. Owen watched them, paying polite attention, but more interested in watching than partaking.

"No need to be so shy, Ann," Allyria tells her, "It's all well and good being bashful and demure, but I find speaking one's mind now and then intrigues a man just as well. Tell us a bit about yourself."

Annelise nodded. "I was born and raised in Heart's Home... I was my father's first and only girl for several years, and as such I was spoiled rotten. I started doing tours of the local towns when I turned thirteen though, trying to support the commonfolk and... whatnot..." She bit her lip as she trailed off.
Owen laughed, "I used to jest and call her a septon. She has the kind heart of one."
Annelise blushed again, but this time she succeeded at concealing it well.

"It's good of you, Annelise," Tyberion answers, "But it can come to nothing. I've tried to be nothing but fair to the smallfolk, but then we look at how they seem to think of me...simple people have simple minds, and they will latch onto any misstep of yours, real or imagined."

"I trust milord's opinion, but does milord not feel some intrinsic good for the work he does?" She pauses. "That's why I do it."

"It's true, there is that...but one in a position of power cannot afford to be too sentimental. I'm sure your brother understands."

"I'm sure he does, Lord Lannister", Ann said, then spoke up again quickly, "What is this soup called? It is one of the finer things I've had in King's Landing so far."

"Well, to my knowledge there are two names. When made with yellow cheese like this, it's a touch more expensive, and called Lion's Mane Soup. But the common folk can usually only afford cheaper white cheese, and so...well, its name isn't fit for dinner conversation, or at least not sober dinner conversation." Tyberion tells her with a grin, finishing off his cup of wine and pouring a new one.

The dinner carries on for three more courses, with the conversation light and amusing. Tyberion, leaning back in his seat, looks to Annelise and asks, "Would you care to take a turn about the grounds, my dear? The gardens are, of course, not fully grown in yet, but at least the stars are fine. I'm sure Allyria can show your brother around a bit here, in our absence."

"I am an avid star watcher, Lord Lannister. Heart's Home provides an excellent mountain view at night, though, which I doubt King's Landing can compare to", she said with a wink.

"I know what you mean. This city lights up like a beacon, and what that doesn't drown out, the smoke does. But one star or a thousand, it remains worth seeing." Tyberion rises from the table, extending his hand to Annelise. "Shall we?"

Annelise rose from her seat and accepted Tyberion's hand graciously. She smiled over at her brother as she up and left, following Tyberion out of the room.

They make their way through the winding halls until finally reaching the garden. A few quick-growing plants help to mask the generally unfinished state of the rest.
"So, Annelise, I'll be frank, and I would like your honest opinion," Tyberion tells her, looking over the grounds, "You know of your brother's intentions, and I'm of the opinion that it's a smart enough match. But what do you think about shackling your lovely little self to a sot like myself?"

Annelise calm demeanor nearly faded at Tyberion's question, but she tried to give a quick answer so as to pay little attention to this slip-up. "Certainly my brother, and definitely myself, do not view you as a sot... and personally, I... would be deeply honored and humbled by such a match. I just... I can't put it into words, Lord Lannister", she said looking up at him.

Tyberion chuckles a bit, then replies, "It was a joke, dear. And I asked for your honest opinion. Put it into words as best you can, if it's not too much trouble."
