Elane smiled as she looked on the end of the ceremony. Knights of the Kingsguard were always a stirring sight.

Grandison bowed his head, "Yes, Your Grace."
Callen nodded, a satisfied look on his face. He lowered the flat of his sword first on Grandison's shoulders, then Erik's and finally Ronalds. "You are now knights of the Kingsguard. I bid you rise and take your place among those such as Aemon the Dragonknight, Ser Arthur Dayne, and Barristan Selmy. You shall find your armour in the tower provided your brotherhood."

Erik stands and looks Callen in the eyes, "I thank you Your Grace my sword is your sword with what ever you wish of it"
With that Erik turns and walks out of the Throne his head held high.

Elane straightened herself and prepared to be summoned. The white knights would go the White Sword Tower now, which had not been burned down.

Callen sheathed his sword, walked up the steps and placed it on the Iron Throne. He then walked back down, pulled the stopper from a skin full of water and drank deeply. He inclined his head and looked at Elane. "You are Elane Royce," he said matter-a-factly.

"Yes, Your Grace," Elane said, stepping forward and choosing her words carefully. "I have come to apologize profusely for your envoy's death, and to tell you that her murderers have been killed by the Vale Watch. Bethany Tyrell was fine lady and I am shocked and ashamed that this happened to her in the Vale."

OOC: The fact that Bethany was Callen's queen was not widely known, in fact only Rhodri and Hodrick know.
IC: Callen paused for a moment, when his voice finally came it was slightly choked, "...Bethany was my wife. I'm not sure why I'm telling you, but since you discovered her you might as well know. The rumour was that we were secret lovers, and that is why I was so grieved at her death."

Elane paled. "I am so sorry, Your Grace. I only knew her as your former wife, and thought that as she was your friend, you sent her as an envoy to the Vale." She was surprised that the king had told her this, but did not dwell on it. "Even House Tyrell did not know?"

Callen shook his head, "No we married in secret on the march to King's Landing. I figured that if things went ill she would be in danger so we told no one. But I told Tallahar in private after the burial."

Elane felt queasy at the knowledge the it was Callen's queen who had died in the mountains, but he did not look vengeful or angry with her. And she couldn't help but feel sorry for him. "I will do what I can to make up for a queen's life by doing what I do best. Saving lives. My aunt has set up healing camps outside the city, Your Grace, and so far we have managed to do much good. But our patients are anxious to get back to their normal lives again, if we can give it to them.
"I will understand if the Royce army and Tyrell army will have to ride to the riverlands or the west, but I ask for a few men to help me clear up the ruins. With your consent, I will plan out makeshift housing on the outskirts until their original homes can be rebuilt."

"It has already started a merchant came last week delivery wood, and houses are already going up. And I do not plan to leave King's Landing undefended, of that you have my assurances." He paused, looking deep into her eyes he continued. "Elane, thank you for all that you and your aunt have done. You have the people of King's Landing's thanks, and you have mine. You are an able healer, and a strong person, the realm will have need of you, I will have need of you."
