Aranya laughed. "I'm glad you didn't either. You're not quite as savage as me, which is good." She sobered. "But perhaps you should have been a little sterner. Aerie Blackwood should have been in black cell. In the healers camp she tried to escape, but luckily I had soldiers stationed there. I took her into the basement of the Merry Maid, thinking that it would be better to keep her in enclosed space."
"It was an armory, but I was confident that I could handle her. And I did handle her - we got into a swordfight, but she didn't manage to get me, and when the torch blew out we stopped fighting. We were even laughing at one point, but then a knight appeared out of nowhere. Ser Kennos Keath." Her lip curled in a snarl at the memory. "They bound me and gagged, but luckily we were found, and the Black Shields had to negotiate to let me go. Aerie took my horse and ran with Kennos Keath." She looked up at him. "Punish me if you want, but do not hurt the Black Shields. It's not their fault the little Blackwood bitch wasn't in a dungeon."
"In any case, it makes no matter. Lord Terrence needn't know that we don't have his girl."

"It is your choice Your Grace" Erik continues to kneel on the cold stone waiting for his king.

Callen nodded, he didn't even look angry. "It's okay, I expected her to escape. I needed her to take a message to the other Blackwoods informing her of my strength here in King's Landing. Of course she would never willingly be a messanger between me and Raventree Hall, but I feel farely confident that she'll tell them. Even if she had been willing I couldn't ask her in front of her father or he wouldn't be as compliant knowing his daughter was free." He gave her a wry smile, "don't be concerned with her escape though, it was planned from the moment Hodrick brought her before the throne." His smile fell a bit, "I do regret not informing you now, but I had to make it look like a legitimite escape. I'm sorry that it almost came to your captivity."

"That's good, then," Aranya said, feeling relieved for Selwyn. "Although, yes, it would have been good to know." She winked. "I forgive you. Now the white knight is waiting to be sworn in."
She nodded to Ser Erik and strode from the throne room.

Erik turns his head to stare at this woman then remembers that a kingsguard does not judge his king and turns his head once again to the floor waiting for his King.

Elane entered the throne room, and saw Aranya on her way out.
"What happened to you?" Elane hissed, looking at her sister's ripped attire and scratches.
"Selwyn," Aranya said with a big grin. Elane flushed in embarrassment, and Aranya walked out laughing.
"Your Grace," Elane said, her calm voice belying her anxiety. "I..." she noticed Ser Erik. "I will wait," she amended.

Callen noticed the young women enter the room with interest. So this is Elane, thought Callen, no great beauty, but she's not necessarily plain either. And after hearing so much of her it will good to finally meet her. Callen turned to Edrik, and noticed his reaction to Aranya, he had learned in his travels how to judge a man, so he knew what Edrik was thinking. "It's okay Erik, say what you will, think what you will. Just because you guard my life does not mean you cannot have opinions of your own. In the end I'm just a man, I can be wrong." He unsheathed his sword, "now then. Erik Tyrell, are ready to take your vows? If you are not you can back out now and I will think no less of you."

Giles Grandison, had entered and knelt too. He was solemn, determined to make this an experience he would remember for the rest of his life.
Callen smiled, "I do not need my sworn swords dying Ronald. If you manage to live that will be fine too." He drew his sword, "As knights of the Kingsguard I charge you with defending the King of Westeros, whether he be me or my heir. I charge you with defending my name, and my people. In this endeveour you shall set aside old loyalties, old loved and family. Your are a family now, dedicated to eachother and your king. You shall take no wife, and father no children. This vow you take is binding for the rest of your life, and let the gods curse he who breaks it. I ask you one more time, are you all willing to do that?"
