OOC: Personally I don't think Baldwin was at all responsible for it (it being the Baratheon pretender thing), and neither does Callen. He says nothing about thinking your behind anything. Personally I think Baldwin is one of the most enigmatic characters in this RP. I'll use the example of Edmure's convinient escape from Lannisport with the Baratheon prince and princess.

The girl could not help but laugh at Jast’s incredulity at her dismissive attitude towards the “take him alive” issue; it was so very like hers when Piers had first broken the absurd news to her. “I can always ask him to tie himself up and hop into my sack, remember?” she drawled carelessly, sweeping a loose tendril of hair out of her eyes. “I know the mission is ridiculous, but there are ways to capture him. None of those ways can be employed, however, if we do not manage to find him. Do you see the problem? And I know Piers Bettley is a blithe asshole,” she added flippantly, patting her sword as if to ensure its presence a her hip, “but I happen to know how to deal with those. It was still difficult to fight the urge to drown him in his own tankard, though. It would have been pleasant.” I knew that bastard had this all planned out for me from the start!
Aerie rose and began to pace the room. “I will have nine, including myself. Two of them will be legends, six will be thieves with skills no lord or king could hope to have, and one will be little, vulnerable me. Our rag-tag band will survive.” She paused, surveying the Goldcloak placidly as her lips quirked into an amused smile. “Believe it or not, Ser Jast, I have been a woman for many years and know the advantages and disadvantages of my kind.” She laughed lightly, resuming her calm pacing of the office. “Where would you go first? The Stormlands or the Reach? If I went to the Stormlands, I could perhaps find some leads and repair any damage the Stag has inflicted upon the lords. If I head to the Reach, I might actually encounter the man, as that is most likely where he is headed. I don’t think he has enough of an army to risk King’s Landing quite yet.” She smiled and added, “If you want to come, you are welcome to join the ranks of my distinguished band.”

"Callen or some of Callen's men attacked a village in the Reach. I think it is a ruse though. He is making it look like he has left the Stormlands but has not. He will not contact the Tyrells directly I think. There are too many in Highgarden who could recognize him and turn him in for the reward. I think he is approaching Stormlords who he knows are loyal, those you said would be a good start. Then move into the Reach, and end at the Arbor. Lord Redwyne is kin of Callen's"
"Piers said that I could not travel with you unless I resigned as the Goldhands commander. And even then he thinks I would be much more of a hindrance then an aid. Know one knows your link to us, but every where I go I will be seen as a Lannister Man." Ser Jast allowed a flicker of disappointment touch his otherwise frozen visage.
"If you need me send a raven, and if I can I will come. That is a weak promise, but it is the best I can offer unless you would like some of my knights?" Jast raised an eyebrow.

I like enigmatic. Its just Baldwin is not a talker. He is not the kind of villian who would monolouge, he would just shot you in the head. I can say there is a reason for every thing I have done. Not matter how confusing it might seem.

As for Baldwin's motivations -- yeah, I think he's definitely telling the truth when he says there is a reason behind everything he does.

Aerie nodded her head at his suggestions, solidifying her resolve to tackle the Stormlands first and then strike the Reach. She had not thought of the Arbor, though, and mentally castigated herself for overlooking such a vital detail. Of course Callen would run to his kin as well, begging and weeping for support. “Lord Piers is right,” she confessed reluctantly, peering at the door before resuming. “I forgot. You will be recognized instantly, and we might as well hang ourselves now for all we would accomplish taking the commander of the Goldcloaks along.” Aerie granted him a slow smile. “Your help is appreciated, but I’d rather it not come to that. Keep your knights. They might go recognized as well, and I have already been given what I will need. I suppose I will meet with Lord Grandison first. I met his son at the tourney. An amusing fellow, do you remember? The one who inquired to the state of your buttocks.” She grinned impishly. “Anyways, I need to depart. I have to coerce the Potters to join me, and regurgitate all this to Alyssa. The first inn down the Roseroad, you said? That should me fine. I will leave on the morrow." She stopped before Jast and placed a placating hand on his arm. “I’ve heard you like to garden avidly. Perhaps you should tend to your roses to take your mind off this messy affair?” She laughed heartily, and moved towards the door to leave.

Ser Jast watched her leave and his hands moved to his sword. For several minutes he stared at the closed door deep in thought, and then he turned away and kicked over his desk.

My love,
Hell has descended upon the Widow's Band once again. We are surviving and snatching a number from the jaws of death in a strangely routine fashion.
Your Fair 17 and Xavier Hill have proved invaluable. Hill especially has been a godsend as he and Petra have become inseperable.
A word to the wise, though. She is crying out for a father figure and no longer are tales of Brave Ser Beetle enough for her. You need, after this bloody mess is over, to meet your daughter or she will never feel for you even the fraction of love I carry for you. And that is an idea I find heartbreaking.
ever yours,
Spider

A letter arrives for Ser Vikter Jast:
I have heard of the blood spilt in the Red Keep. What is going on there and who in the Seven Hells is supposed to be King? Surely Aedon’s fratricide will not go unpunished? I am uncertain what this means for my mission, as the prospect of a madman kinslayer sitting on the throne is rather unpleasant.

Ser Randal avvives at the manor with 20 men. They procede to barricade themselves in hope of rallying more Lannisters to they're cause.
ooc:is anybody there, if they are, then the rest applies, if not, it doesnt.
"Lannisters, friends of the Hands, please, help us."
"There is a new king, he is a murderer, and the smallfolk are rioting."
"Our main goal should be in forming a party to get into the hands tower, for the new king surely will strike back against our good lord Baldwin."
"If you are hear, we must rally, we must fight, but more important, we must survive. If there are none to tell the tale of murder he shall become the new king unapposed."

Randal finds the manor in good order, too many knights reside here for the mobs to threaten the building. There are even picket lines set up around the castle.
Ser Vikter Jast walks up to Randal, "Ser I hear what you say. But most of the men here right now are GoldHands and are loyal to the realm, and king."
Looking over his shoulder, "I can bring fifteen mounted knights, that should be enough to get us into the Red Keep."

Ser Randal, looking over the rest of the men, looks like he has just realized something.
"So be it, fifteen will not be enough, we shall wait out the riots and see what comes of it, yes."
With tlhat, he proceeds to sit down and stare out a window.

((double post)) Ser Randal and his men proceed to follow Lord Baldwin in his flight of the city. To the rest of the Lannisters in the manor he shouts; "Follow me out of the city, and if you will not follow me, follow your lord Baldwin, and flee back to Casterly Rock.
