Alys sighed.
"Yes, and I've no desire to be considered rude, though I've been called such in the past, I must confess."

Allyria takes his hand, smiling, and follows him out to the dance floor. He twirls her around on the dancefloor, then says playfully, "I hear there's a rumour of you being one of the most beautiful from the West".

"One of?" Allyria gasps, taking mock offense, "I could have sworn Tyberion had exiled all the others."

Howland chuckles and joked on, "There are women more beautiful than you then? Maybe I should travel the land to find those mythic exciled ones, though I fear I shall turn old and grey till I find any of them. Maybe I just have to settle with dancing with you".

"My condolences," She answers, "Though I do hope it's not too terrible a punishment. Much as my father paid them, I had, at last count, had six dancing teachers resign in despair over me."

"I have sturdy feet," Howland said. "So I do not think that will be much of a bother, my Lady" his eyes twinkled a bit. He stumbled a abit, "Mayhaps it is I who need those dancing teachers".

Allyria giggles. "The two of us must look quite the pair, then. Ah, well. One should look a bit ridiculous now and then, 'tis good for the ego."

Allyria giggles. "The two of us must look quite the pair, then. Ah, well. One should look a bit ridiculous now and then, 'tis good for the ego." "A beautiful lady that has not got a huge ego," Howland says in mock surprise. "I did not think those excisted". He winked.

Irwyn searches out a friendly face after ending his brief conversation with Bryden and Wulf. He waves to Samuel from across the room and begins to approach him from across the hall.

"A beautiful lady that has not got a huge ego," Howland says in mock surprise. "I did not think those excisted". He winked. "What a thing to say! It's you lords and knights with the dangerous egos. You'll kill men for a slight to your honor, or for a slight to ours, no matter how slight the slight might be."

"That is true for some I suppose, though that depends on how much honour is slighted. Lord Dawnrose does not seem to care much for his," Howland said. "Would you not want to be defended by some valiant knight if your honour was questioned?"
Brandon walked after Irwyn, "Loren, my son has expressed his wishes to once again become a squire of someone from the Far Reach. I could not think of anyone more suited than you at this moment, so what do you say?"

"Well, I certainly wouldn't stop him. It's not that I mind a little blood now and then; I'm not some prissy little girl who thinks the world is all roses and sunshine. If fighting is necessary, then so be it. But Dawnrose and my brother picking a fight over a few words? That strikes me as the height of foolishness."

"Sometimes words cut deeper than swords," Howland said. "Imagine that one of your kin was killed, and the murderer walks up to you and offer his condolences". Howland gritted his teeth and his eyes turn angry for a moment. "A bad choice of subject yet again, you have my apologies my Lady," he said in a softer voice.
