Ser Lyn Payne and Lord Martyn Lefford sat in the solar of the lord of the Golden Tooth, discussing all concerning Tyberion Lannister, Rodrick Baratheon and spy networks.
"My lord, if my memory serves me well, you have a daughter in Casterly Rock, do you not?" asked Lyn
"I do. What are you aiming at, Ser Lyn?" Martyn narrowed his eyes
"Well, she can always sneak some spies into the castle. Like that, we will have a close look on Tyberion Lannister and everything that happens in Casterly Rock." explained Payne
"What kind of spies?" asked Martyn "The Rock is not the Red Keep to have tunnels all through it."
"I know. I was aiming at maids, cooks, stable-boys, common servants and the like. But such will need payment to listen to us and house Lefford is known to have money." Lyn smiled
"You want me to finance your network?" Martyn's eyes widened
"Well, do you want to know what goes around in Casterly Rock?"
"Of course I do." Martyn shifted in his chair "I will write you a paper that you will take to my steward. He will give you the money."
Martyn took a parchment and a quill. He wrote something and gave the parchment to Lyn.
"Will this be enough?" he asked
"Certainly. My lord, send a letter to your daughter and inform her of this action we are about to take. I must go now and prepare some men for the job. Thank you a lot, my lord." Lyn got up, bowed and left the solar.
As he was going through the hallways of the Golden Tooth, Lyn smiled to himself. The lords of the Golden Tooth and Kayce trust him and from this that they were doing, he might get something. His networks were working perfectly, Ser Miles Plumm trusted him beyond normality and Lord Lefford gave him money.

Martyn watched him leave, then wrote a letter to his daughter to keep her eye on the servants and on Tyberion. When he was finished, he summoned one of his foremen.
"Harris, I treat you and your men well, do I not?"
"Ehr... yes, sir. You invite us to solstice dinner every year and clothe our children." Harris fidgeted, wondering if the lord thought he was stealing from the ore wheelbarrow. Lefford had hanged the last greedy fool in public and shipped his family north. A kind master, but hardly a lenient one...
"If I said there was probably a man walking around paying my men to spy, what would you say to this man?"
"I'd say... that no man can outbid Martyn Lefford?"
"That's the correct answer, Harris. If this man says he is a friend of mine, take his money and smile and nod your head, but there is be no whispering in the Golden tooth. You see a man who looks like he can't carry a pick properly, you report him to me. You do not confront him, you simply come to me."
"yes, sir..."
Lefford tossed him a bag of coin, then waved him off. When he was alone, he smiled while thinking of Ser Lyn and wondered what sort of man he had allowed into his keep.
