Thenn is a small land far to the north of the Wall, situated in a high mountain valley. Hidden among the northernmost peaks of the Frostfangs it is surrounded by cave dwellers, Hornfoot men, giants, and the cannibal clans of the ice rivers.

Tanguy sits dining on game in his home, the longhouse, the tallest and strongest building in Thenn. The men eating around him are wildlings, children of the children of the First Men his seasoned fellows and savages in the eyes of the warmblooded Westerosi. Tanguy rips a piece of vension from a leg and chews it thoughtfully.
Jeon stirs uncomfortably and Tanguy notices. "Too chewy for your refined tastes, Crow?", Tanguy says in mixed Common and Old tongue.
Jeon shakes his head, "No, Magnar." Whether he quit the Night's Watch willfully or not was not known. His devotion, or at least loyalty to the Magnar, was, however. He continued to eat the meat before him, wiping the mess and juice on the black fur he was wrapped in.

Tanguy waves a hand at one of the nearby men. "Bring me the Speaker", Tanguy called, his voice hoarse, emanating from somewhere within the thick of his red beard. The Speaker was most knowledgeable of Tanguy's men. His formal role to Tanguy was as the Magnar's Speaker, the Old Gods' prophet in Thenn. He was an old odd smelling man with a hunched back, grey eyes and a beard twice the size of the Magnar's.

The Speaker shuffles forward and bows as low as his twisted back will allow. "Magnar," he wheezes in a tone of deep reverance, "What is your command?"

Tanguy coughed loudly and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. "Speaker. Tell me of the Night's Watch and their weaknesses. Describe their master."
Jeon blank expression tightened into a slight frown. He could have just as well given the Magnar the answer he requested, but such were the customs of these people.

The Speaker glances at the crow-gone-over for a moment, then casts his eyes subserviently downwards once again.
"It has been many years since I have glimpsed the Wall, Magnar. But if their commander is the same now as he was then..." The Speaker coughs violently for several seconds, then resumes. "If it is the same man, he is one they call 'Farman'. He is a man skilled with the sword and in leading men. They say he is cruel, and will torture men to extract knowledge from them. His force is disciplined, and armed with strong steel."

Tanguy nodded slowly, stroking, even somewhat tugging at his red beard in thought. "How many men would arm themselves and follow me if I were to blow my warhorn it in the middle of the Thenn, Speaker?"

"Every man, Magnar," The Speaker says. "All four hundred will follow you to the death."

"As they should, Speaker." He leaned back in his wood-and-bronze throne, and lifted his head up. "I want the giants to fight beside us. Which man in this room can make that happen?"

"The Giants..." The Speaker rasps, "They are an old people, Magnar... Fierce, but they will not fight without cause. It is not often that they follow men to war."

"Is there a man amongst us who can lead your Magnar to the Giants?", Tanguy asked leaning out over his table and scanning the crowd of admiring faces. They were his subjects, but he had little care for their individual lives.

A thickset man with both of his ears claimed by frostbite steps forward. "My father showed me the way to their valley when I was young, Magnar."

Tanguy clapped his hands together. "Lead this man to a large supply of beer! Tonight we drink! Tomorrow we ride." He stood and motioned slaves and servants alike to start handing out cups and alcohol.

The earless man grins, revealing a toothless mouth. "A thousand praises upon you, Magnar!" He rushes in the direction of the beer.
The Speaker squints his eyes and clears his throat is if to say something, but remains silent.

"It's not giants you should be searching for," a hooded man said in a low voice, barely audible above the din.
