Salla entered the inn and saw Ser Rindwynd talking with Ser Breyn Royce. So this is where he had rode off to after speaking with Prince Callen.
Salla waited for Ser Breyn to leave before he approached Ser Rindwynd. "Greetings, Ser. I bring glad tidings from your good brother. He is relieved that both you and Gathor have survived this terrible ordeal. I hope your family are similarly well? He feared the worst once he learned of Highgarden's surrender". Salla looked over his shoulder and whispered "Any word of Ser Tallahar? The North is no place for a Tyrell to stay in these days"

"It appears that he did, and what fate he can expect now, few can say. There are rumors that King Aegon intends to feed Callen to his dragon, piece by piece. An awful fate to be sure. If he dies, so ends any chance of a further rebbellion. Your sister is married to Callen isn't she. How is she taking this horrible situation?"

Having ridden for some time, Steffen Lannister and Nealon Spear arrive in the market square of Kings landing. The worm is dressed in a large woolen cloak and heavy boots, evidently used to hide any sign of wounds. His face is paler than it once was, the begginings of hair growing on his usually cleanshaven face and head.

Ser Doran's squire, Sandor, walks through the Marketplace, eating a pie which he has purchased. He is leading Ser Doran's horse to the nearest farriers, that it may be frehsly shoed.

After a hard ride, Georg Reeves of the Riding Dead enjoyed a pint of very fine ale at the Merry Maid. The women were cheerful and saucy, just what a man needed.

Donal entered the Merry Maid, spotted Salla talking with Rindwynd and came across the join them. After a hushed and rapid conversation between them Salla left the Maid swiftly, heading for his horse.
"Hello Rindwynd, how fares you this day?" Donal said as he sat down, beckoning a girl across to order some wine & bread. "I hear you have signed up for the Melee as well" he said as he lifted his glass "May we both do well and restore some pride to the Tyrell name!" "What do you think of the Dornish question? Will we have to raise our banners do you think?"

Aranya Stone rides into Market Square and into the yard of the Merry Maid. Handing her well-lathered black courser to a stable boy, Aranya takes her pack and strides into the Inn. It is completely full. She spies Tyrell knights - probably of House Tyrell themselves - and then, in another corner, Lord Breyn. Grinning, she makes her way over.
"What a surprise to see you here, Master of Laws," she said. "Shouldn't you be in some pink apartments in the Red Keep?" Leaning closer, she asks, "How goes things in there, anyway? Aunt Lilith all right?"

Georg had heard of the tall man who understood Valyrian from Lady Lilith, and thought it would be good to meet him. He introduced himself as the captain of the Riding Dead, recently come from the Battle of Caserly Rock. The conversation was cordial but didn't go far--he noticed his old friend and companion, Aranya had just arrived.

Georg Reeves sauntered over and Aranya beckoned him with a smile. "Here's one who seems to have grown more prosperous during the war! Is that a gold chain I spy?"

Donal spoke but briefly with the Captain of the Riding Dead as the man hurried across to join the Royce Lord and his companions. He seemed a strong man, tough with his men but willing to endure the same hardships. Good qualities in a captain and no doubt the reason that they had done as well as they had in the battle. Donal had heard of their exploits outside the walls of Casterly Rock and considering how it ended, wondered that any had survived at all. The ruefully wondered how his brother's Golden Roses would have faired in similar circumstances and hoped he'd never have to find out.
