"Lord Justin," Samuel said, "do you think we can adjust these trebuchets to hit them from here, or do they need to come closer, my lord?" he asked.

Justin raised his eyebrow. "Cuy, how is the range on these Trebuchets?"
"Range is good milord." the Sunflower knight said, taking a quick peek at the weapon.

Lord Cyrus Varner, and Ser Derick Cuy ride out on behalf of the Far Reach. They come of a line with Lords Tyrell, Caswell and Dawnrose.
"How do you fare Lord Tyrell? Perhaps your lord has seen the light and will retire from the field? Were he to tire, and disband his army, we would be well satisfied."

"I would of been satisfied for this to never of happened but the gods are fickle, but Rowan will have to be dealt with, he is a good man but he has betrayed me."

"He is your bannerman, his fate is yours to decide, but if we can spare men here it would be for the best. Derick Rowan is not the enemy. He is only an obstacle." Cyrus says, staring out across the field, waiting for Rowan to join them.
He says a small prayer for his friend and brother-in-law while he waits.

Lord Derick Rowan rides out with only a squire carrying a banner. He approaches the men in the middle of the battle field. Looking at the men already gathered there he says quickly, "We should use this time to clear the field of the wounded. If this is acceptable?"
Sighing he turned to Craych, "By this time you have no doubt already accused me of Treason, and I would like to settle this manner immediately. A trial by combat right here in front of all the men. Between you and I."

"Agreed on both counts, also I am within my rights to choose a champion Lord Rowan, and choose my cousin Lord William Dawnrose for the Honor of my house and the Mander."

William is silent next to his cousin. When treason and a Trial of Combat is brought up William is stunned, "Can we not reason like good men."

"Lord Rowan, whatever charges Lord Tyrell has made for your actions, we fight you because you side with our enemy Rodrick, an unjust tyrant, a murderer, and a kinslayer. He must answers to those charges, not you. But whatever your motives, we can never allow this army of yours to join Rodrick's. If you win or lose some contest of arms with Lord Tyrell means naught. We will still need to fight you as long as this army remains in the field."

Rowan looked, to Lord Varner, "Do you hold our traditions in such low respect? If I defeat Craych, that will prove his side is damned by the gods." Derick waved his hand, "The point is moot, once Tyrell is killed that will mean I am innocent of Treason, proving that the Tyrell line is the tainted one. And if I lose, that will prove the opposite. So my army will know to surrender completely." He pointed to the area between Tyrell's and Hightower's forces, "If I win, your lines will be completely exposed to a devastating attack from these Mander men, and they will be able to cut off your retreat." Pointing to a rise in the distance where three riders are silhouetted against the Horizon, "Lord Ashford did not ride far, I imagine he is preparing his force for an attack also. The tides on this battle will shift."
Turning back to Craych he said, "If you came a champion, I may as well my lord. It is my right as well. Your champion has to be willing to fight for you, and Dawnrose does not seem eager. Let us settle this, we all know you are craven," He motions to his fifteen thousand, "fighting me will at least remove that smudge from your reputation."

"Name that bastard." Cyrus Varner points to Ser Arthur Graves, who had struck Lord Hightower. " as your champion, and I will gladly serve as Lord Craych's."

The bickering had worn William down and something snapped, "Silence!!!!!!!!" As all eyes looks at him, "We are men of honor not barbarians. Rowan you are Lord of Goldengrove and Goodbrother to Craych. Why would you wish to harm one so close to you? But if you must I agree. I will fight you or whoever you desire."

Ser Samuel watched the parlay anxiously. He wished he were there with Lord Varner, so that he could hear the words being exchanged. Samuel doubted Rowan would have joined battle to merely surrender now, and he realized that the only thing the Lord of Goldengrove could be intending, was to challenge someone to single combat to determine the battle's outcome. He frowned, and began to wipe down Treason with a rag, removing the blood that was splattered on the blade's length, before sheathing the sword to help the men around him carry the wounded Reachmen back behind the battle lines, so they would not be trampled if the battle commenced again.

Loren rode up towards Samuel, "What do you think Rowan will ask for?" the Uplands Lord said motioning with his hand towards where the Parlay was going on.
