Creyon enters the great hall. Vrol Volmark and Gevin the Gross follow behind him. All 3 men sporting extremely dark tans. Gevin the Gross has lost a few pounds since the last time Farwynd saw him. Creyon looks like he is in a particularly good mood.

"Cheaptrick," he calls out, "Harlaw wants a report on the work you've been doing."

"Well, the short of it is, anyone trying to take the shields will have to expend a lot more men than we did when we took them," replied Creyon with a smug grin. "The dry moats around each of the keeps are 30 yards wide and 50 yards deep. I thought about redirecting a river to fill up the one here at Oakenshield, but I was advised against destroying the local irrigation system. We've erected new walls within each keep, funneling anyone who breaches the gate through a narrower corridor. Even if they get through the gate, we will bleed them inch by inch as they try to take over the keeps. Each keep has 4 large trebuchets, 1 torsion catapult, 2-4 ballistae and 10-20 scorpions. The men have been training in the use of them. The thralls have also been trained to help in the reloading of the trebuchets and catapults. Oh, and total thrall strength that was assigned to me is at 191. 2 died of heatstroke, 1 of exhaustion and 6 of the flux. You will be pleased to know they are a lot healthier and stronger than when I first got them from you. At the moment we are focusing on training as well as stocking up on arrows, bolts etc... I could go on and on, perhaps you have a more specific question in mind?"

"Good. Harlaw wants to meet with you. His last message told he was travelling back from King's Landing, and that we would need to prepare for battle. He will be making for the Iron Islands first to rally them, so find him there."
