"I know the boy." Olander pursed his lips contemplatively, gazing ot a half-shuttered window as he swirled his wine in slow, lazy circles before he spoke, "I took him captive when I captured Bear Island, during the Basilisk Invasion. He knows me, and knows my relationship to his father." The crannogman's look soured at that. "So much wasted power and potential," he sighed.
"I cannot imagine that my presence would entice him to work for us... Though if he is anything like his father, the notion of power might sway him," Lord Reed mused aloud. With a suddenness, his brow furrowed and immediatly a sardonic laugh escaped his lips unbidden.

Terrence quirks a puzzled eyebrow. "Is there something more you wish to share, Lord Olander?" He asks quizzically.

"The axe," he said simply, grimacing at the solution. "His father's axe. Kegsplitter. The thing is still under lock and key at Greywater Watch."

"An elegant solution," Terrence says, "Though here is where I must request your aid. Lord Pieter and his sons must somehow be lured out to sea. I fear he would be wary of me, but you, Lord Olander... you who has saved his life, he would not suspect. If you were to say that you wished your daughter to meet his sons, in hopes of finding a compatible match, and suggested a luncheon on the water to that purpose..." Terrence swirls his wine again. "That might work quite well."

Lord Olander nodded slowly, appreciating the weight of the plot in his mind. "Tully will be easy to deal with. It is the Greyjoy that I am worried with... I think it ought be best for him not to meet with me directly. One of your men might do the job, if there is one you trust well enough with the information. If not, perhaps if I send Olivan, the kraken will reign in his spite."

Lord Blackwood considers. "There is someone who I might send in good conscience. It may be best for you to send a representative as well -- though whether you trust this Jhorgo enough to put your son within the Kraken's grasp, I will leave to you."

"Olivan is a strong willed and capable man. I would trust no one more than him to take care of the matter at hand. In any case, I'm holding out on the greed of this 'King' of the Stepstones to trump over some decades long conflict with a father he barely saw. I had him treated well when he was in my care, so the boy has no other reason to plague me with brutality when he has something to gain from civility."

Terrence nods. "Then it is settled. We will find passage for them on a discrete ship, and see if their negotiations bear fruit."

Olander nods as well with a smile, raising his wine goblet aloft. "Everything seems in order then. Here's to our noble lords and the misfortunes that befall them."

Terrence raises his goblet as well, clinking it slightly against Lord Olander. "To convenient tragedies and beneficial accidents," he toasts in turn, then drinks.
