"Fair enough, I'll tell lord Justin and I'm sure he'll make the distinction clear that Lannisport is on the level, if any trouble were to come on account of Lord Cedric." The youth yawned for a moment, and turned.
"So how long did your father know about Queen Anya and the switch?" He asked, suddenly changing subjects.

"It would seem that your father is more open then mine ever was." She smiled ruefully, "There was much he did not tell me." Petra crossed her legs.

"My Da' is going through this whole 'Oh to who will I leave my legacy, stuff, so he's been filling me in more than he used to.' Jax shrugged. "Your father was a secretive old bastard. I think there's no good to information if you can't share it with the right person at the right time to effect some kind of positive change."

Petra smiled, "The difference between my father and yours, is the my father did not want a spymaster for a daughter. He wanted me to marry a fat lordling and birth runts in my nice palace." She rolled her eyes, "But that was not the life I wanted." She smiled to herself.

"Oh? You're in it for the intrigue and danger huh? I suppose your dad's dream is typical of the lordly types. For us smallfolk, there's nothing more natural in the world than to carry on your dad's profession. Your dad's a blacksmith, you're a blacksmith too. My dad, was not exactly a blacksmith of course, but its the same concept." Jax smiled at the lady, "So no Lord Petra Bettely any time soon huh?"

Petra snickered, "If there is a Lord of Lannisport, that would mean the Lady of Lannisport if a pampered brood mare. That will never be my life."

"And when you pass away, turn over that sweet little city and all its gold to another? Seems a shame, it looks good with Beetle Colors from its lampposts." Jax shrugged, "But I take your meaning. Those are concerns I don't have of course, lucky man that I am."

"I have a son, he is a Hill now, but one day he will be a mountain." She smiled, "Is there anything else?"

"I suppose it makes sense for Mountains to inherit in the West. My father says the whirlwind sucks up much of the information that passes through the Westerlands. Would our people be able to travel through Lannisport under your protection, to avoid the searches and checkpoints through the mountain passes?"

Petra looked at him and chuckled, "Would Flea please give me direct access to the men running his agents in Oldtown? I have a few questions for them."

Jax laughed, "Now in truth, that is not a fair comparison. We're asking for safe transit through the city, not to rob you blind. We'll gladly share what we gather using that transit route. You gain information, it requires you to do nothing but simply NOT act, and if things go badly, they are our agents, not yours, so Lord Cedric can scarcely take it out on you. An inexpensive agreement."

Petra nodded, "It is especially inexpensive from your side, with you paying nothing."

Jax looked offended. "I thought we were going to be friends. This is a friendly deal. Its just a matter of saving a friend some trouble. We aren't going to poke around Castle Petra and interfere with whatever it is you do, We just want a gate way into Casterly Rock and the rest of the West."

"So you want me to expose corrupt soldiers, and the hidden routes I use to enter the West." Petra shook her head, "We are friends, but what you ask is not some cheap party favor. If it was simple your Father would already have figured a way around it." She wagged her finger, "I am not saying no, but it is not valueless, as you are implying."

"This would be the point in the discussion where you counter offer." Jax said drolly.
