"Some happier than others, but certainly big," Brandon agreed. "How's life treating you?"

Wulf gulped down some ale and leaned back, "all things considered I suppose I have no call for complaints. What of you, Brandon? How are your wife and children? They are Waxleys, correct?"

“Bah! The king wouldn’t dare spark another war, not yet leastways. Anyway I think he likes you.”
Balon chuckled, akin to a battle horn being trumpeted. After a pause and a long, generous swig of ale he nodded slowly.
“But aye, there is sense in what you say. One of us needs to be closer to the isles. What of our new possessions?”He grinned.

Brandon nods, "Aye, as luck would have it they take after their mother more than me. They're doing well, both of the boys want to grow up to be great warriors naturally. I'm not sure where they got that from. Probably some fancy tales. My youngest wants to be like ser Patrek Redfort of all things, I miss that cousin of mine."

If you have any suggestions for men of worth for those positions let me know."

"I had not heard of your cousin, what were his deeds?" Wulf asked casually, before calling to Jon to bring them some roast mutton to eat.

"Let's see, he was one of the first to join the King's Men, right after Lord Commander Benfry organised it. One of the three surviving King's Men that made it out of the Red Keep alive after the Crow's Coup, the bastards walked to the Vale would you believe that? I think he was one of the King's Men in charge of guarding Rodrick when he was your father was to foster him. He commanded the fleet that got the Ironbornship away from Seagard during the Basilisk war, then later donned the white cloak while Rickon was still king".

Wulf grinned, "quite a warrior, a shame his deeds have gone unsung. Are you not a bard, Brandon? You should write a song in honour of your cousin."

Balon shrugged, “non spring to mind, I trust you already have some trustworthy men picked out. “
"I’ve not seen the bastard of Greyjoy for sometime,” he smirked, “I assume he still sits on ‘New Pyke’?”
The ironman chuckled, finishing his ale and reaching for a second.
“ He could prove useful, ‘eh? More pirate than Ironborn, who could blame us for his actions…”

Brandon smiled, "It's been a long time since I last sang, I fear my voice has gone rusty. Can still play a harp though". Brandon thinkgs a bit, "I might have written a song about him, though it was more about the King's Men in general I suppose".

******************* several hours later Balon exits the Hall, somewhat more drunk than when he entered. He heads towards the harbor, alone.

Tyberion Lannister arrives, taking a seat in a far corner. He lets the staff know he's expecting someone, and would prefer some quiet.

Haley arrived after managing to get out of the townhouse. She looked apprehensive as she looked at the place, from just inside the doorway.

Despite Tyberion's hopes for quiet, the sight of a pretty Reach girl provokes many hoots and whistles from the Ironborn when Haley enters.
