Loren draws back in disgust, his nerves already edgy from being in an unfamiliar surrounding, his initial reaction was to throw a punch but he was not sure exactly what the young rose meant so he hesitated.
"What exactly do you mean by those words, Tyrell," Loren says in a whisper so as not to cause a scene yet, "and you better choose them carefully."

"Oh nothing Lord Irwyn just remembering tales of old battles before our times."

Loren snorted, "although some things never change, as it seems you still can't teach a Tyrell any fucking manners," he brushed past Damin on his way to another corner of the room. Why the fuck did he ever come to King's Landing, none of these people knew anything of duty and sacrifice. They were just here to have their fill and leave the kingdom an empty carcass. The whole place should have remained a wasteland a reminder to the complete impotency of the Seven Kingdoms to do anything constructive.

Lord Barclay makes an effort to seek out the young Irwyn Lord. Barclay holds a goblet of wine in each hand as he marches up to Loren, "Drink up! Let us put an end to sobriety!". He smiled, "I am Lyreon Barclay, and I see by your arms you are an Irwyn."

Damin then walks over to the Hand, "My Lord Hand it is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Damin Tyrell."

Damin then walks over to the Hand, "My Lord Hand it is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Damin Tyrell." "Greetings Ser", Breck said politely, "You are one of Tallahar's sons, are you not? You have the look of Callen about you. He was my squire many years ago..."

"Look yes but we are much different. Callen seemed to take your teachings and stories about men like the Dragon Knight or Ser Douglas Trant rather more seriously. He spends all his day talking about chivalry and his Knightly oaths. I am a man that thinks the ends justify the means."

"A fair practice, Ser Damin, do not get me wrong. I simply don't care to follow that as often as I practice my other philosophies. But enough of the serious talk, this is a light-hearted event. What do you make of this fantastically young couple?"

"An odd choice for the young Princess but I have spent time in Braavos and it does not concern me that greatly that we are becoming closer to them."

"Oh? What were you in Braavos doing?"

"Learning. As a Knight learns to Joust and use a Sword I learnt what I had too in Braavos."

He smiled, "I am Lyreon Barclay, and I see by your arms you are an Irwyn." "Thank you," Loren said draining the goblet with one quick flick of the wrist. "I am not fond of these fancy parties, they are nothing but a sham. Everyone pretends to be nice to one another when deep down they secretly seek the others ruin," Loren pauses. "Its as if a group of predators have stumbled upon a carcass at a watering hole and they ignore their animosity for each other just long enough to devour whatever poor creature lays in front of them."

Barclay laughs, "Well put". "Ahh", he says, as if he had forgotten his manners, and as he extends his hand he says, "Lyreon Barclay... Lord of a few places".
