MAndery, Umber, Burley and Cerwyn stood, before nodding to Reed.

If Olander was understandably livid at the northern lords' silence, he hid it very, very well.
They nod their approval, but say nothing. Neither do any lords protest. If they won't speak, then there is nothing to discuss. It is done.
"Then we are done here. I will act as Gariss Stark's lord protector, until he is of age and able to rule in his own right. The hunchback Meraxes has named Ser Warren Frey as the mind behind the poisoning here. I will be working with Lord Tully to bring him to northern justice. For those who wish to remain, a funeral service for Roose Stark will be held here before his remains are taken north to be interred with his ancestors in the crypts of Winterfell. Otherwise, you are all dismissed."
The little Lord Stark were escorted from the great hall, and shown to their own quarters. Olander waited until the northern lords began to mill about themselves before speaking to his cousin-in-law. "Lord Edmure. Walk with me, will you?" the crannogman asked, turning to depart the hall for the courtyard.

"Of course." Said Edmure, following the new lord Protector of the north.

"What is it you wished to discuss?"

Edmure looked around then spoke quietly "Of Lord Stane, Olander. He has already rebelled once and now his grandson is lord of the North he may use him to rise again, against you. Young Gariss needs be raised as a North Lord not a Near Wildling Stoneborn. Perhaps if you where to foster him away from his mother and her father it would be for the best."

"There must aways be a Stark in Winterfell," Olander said for the second time that day. "If I steal away Gariss, the lords of the North will see it as stealing away power for myself. No, the wolf pup needs to be raised in Winterfell, it was the home of his father; it needs to become his home as well. Lord Stane might have rebelled, but now that his blood is in the line of the Starks, he will revert to complacency. The man is a fearsome general, have no doubt, but his cunning ends on the battle field."
"Have no fear, Gariss will be a son of the North. He will grow up with northern nursemaids and learn from northern maesters, he will be raised with northern children, with my own if the Old Gods will it, and perhaps your and Pypar's child as well. He will train with northern warriors, eat food from northern cooks, and learn the arts of lordship from a northern lord. Trust in this, Edmure."

"I never doubted you Olander, but I still do not trust the Skagosi."

The crannogman nodded. "Understandably so, given your history. I'll keep tabs on the skagosi to ensure everything remains well. And... thank you, Edmure, for trusting in me."

"Of course lord Olander, you are a man of honour and I am sure you will lead the North into a new time of prosperity."
