Personal History- Justin was the bastard born son of Lord Robert Hightower. His father died at the Black Parlay slain by Lyas Bolton before Justin was even born. Instead, Justin was raised by his regent Francis Varner, and his uncle Maester Alesander. He was raised in close proximity to Francis' son Cyrus and daughter Shauna, and later to Alexander Irwyn's Children Loren, Corrine and Dorian. As children they were inseparable, and Justin was their natural born leader, both as the oldest and as their liege. He has married his childhood friend, Shauna Varner. When he came of the proper age, Justin squired under Scot Royce at Runestone for several years, at the request of Scot's sister Anne Varner. He and Cyrus formed bonds of battle as well as friendship, as they fought the mountain clans in a number of small skirmishes. Recieving his spurs, Justin returned to Oldtown, a young man, his friendship with Shauna became a mutual love and respect, and she has bore him three healthy children.

Physical Description: Fair haired, and green-eyed, Justin has a charming, calm demeanor.

Reputation: A serious, competent young man, but unbloodied and untested.

Personal History- The only son and heir of Lord Francis Varner, Cyrus knew little of his father growing up, since the man was often away at King's Landing serving as the Master of Whisperers, or undercover abroad. What he knows is mostly from stories told by his mother Anne Royce, or his father's men. When he reached of age, he was sent to live with Lord Roland Royce as a page, and eventually a squire. He is close friends with the Irwyn twins, and with Lord Justin Hightower, since the boys all grew up together playing games in Lord Justin's household. When Cyrus was six years old, he was sent to serve as a page for Roland Royce, than the Hand. When Roland retired as hand Cyrus went with him to Runestone, and continued to serve. Roland's honorable nature weighed heavily on him, and Cyrus was committed to serving as a knight like his Uncle. When Cyrus was 16, and serving as a squire, he and his friend Justin Hightower fought the Clannish under Lord Roland's expert tutelage. When Lord Roland traveled to King's Landing, to present a case of treason to King Rickon. Roland was arrested for his part in the abdication of King Rickon, and Cyrus was dragged, kicking and screaming for vengeance back to the Far Reach by Ser Templeton of the King's Men. Cyrus urged the Hightower to declare against Rodrick, but Justin told him he must be patient and wait, and that justice would come for his Uncle.

Physical Description: Cyrus looks much like his father, dark medium length hair, and brown eyes, only he is both taller and broader than his father was, with a body fit for the battlefield, and hands for holding sword and shield, not daggers in the dark.

Reputation: It is wrongly assumed that Cyrus's temperament closely mirrors his father's, but it does not, it is more like his uncle Roland's.

Character Personal History: Flea was a nameless street urchin living on the streets of Flea's Bottom, making his living as a rat catcher, until he was discovered by Francis Varner. First he served as a manservant, and later, as a courier. But as trust grew between the young boy and his patron, Flea was asked to take on more and more difficult jobs, including infilitrating the Inverted Septs of the Cult of the Dead God, and rescuing Lord Regent Benfry Smith from the hands of the usurper Horas Blackwood. When Varner was murdered at the hands of Horas Blackwood, He left in his will a small trunk of possessions and title to the tiny town of Shallowgrave to the boy who had served him so well. Inside the trunk was the money and the secrets needed to continue running the Varner Spy Network along with a set of instructions. It's those instructions, what Flea calls the "Varner's Plan" which drives him to continue the work of his old master.

Physical Description: Flea is still a short, thin man with boy looks, best known for his black hair and the dark circles under his eyes which come from staying up nights ferreting out secrets.

Reputation: Those who know him through his work know him as a serious and ruthless young man driven by loyalties which are hard to understand. Those who know him socially know that he can be fun, and kind, and sweet, when the moment is right.
