The Invader's bowmen prove superior, laying down wicked fire, as their infantry cross the no man's land, and reach the walls, throwing up ladders and grapples, and bringing up their battering ram. Lord Farman catches an arrow through the under arm, and falls, dying. Three arrows perforate third Cardinal of Uplands, Ser Chauncey, and he also falls.

The Basilisks swell over the sides of the Parapet by the hundreds, and neither the Crown nor Westermen prove able to resist. Templeton is overcome by a number of men, and falls to wicked halberd blows. The Crownmen are being pushed back hard, cutting their lines on two sections near the gate house where Alexander Irwyn stands.

The Champion of the North and the Viceroy both reached the top.

Seeing a real opportunity for a coup, the Champion of the North charges forward only to be decapitated in a single blow by Irwyn's duel axes.

The Viceroy barks out a laugh as he cuts down Ser Shelton.

Viceroy and Alex Irwyn may enter single combat if he chooses.

As the men conduct a fighting retreat back to the Keep, Darien Stone slaughters any Basilisk who comes in his path. He barely noticed as not one, but two of the enemies champions fall underneath is blade.

From inside the keep Lefford orders boiling oil, crossbow quarrels, rocks, and even the silverware, to be thrown down upon the heads of the enemy, who die at the walls of the Keep by the hundreds.
