Darien chuckled a little. "Half their army? Well, I doubt that. But hey, it can't be all bad having such things said of one." He studied the man a little more. "Yet I still believe I recognize your face. You arrived with the Mander forces?"

Galahad was fairly shocked, "Y-yes, ser. I had ended with the Mander forces, though I don't believe I'm from the Mander," he explained. "We came upon the Lizard men in the last battle, though they had pushed through," Galahad said somberly. 'The Seven save my mother,' he thought to himself for a moment, before noticing that the Knight was looking, and tried to compose himself.

Darien's piercing blue eyes filled with amusement. "Might be I saw you fighting when you relieved us. I doubt we would have been able to hold out for much longer. For that I must thank you." He gave the man a reassuring smile before holding out his hand. "Darien Stone, oh and you need not call me Ser."

He felt in two. Part of him enjoyed being praised, though the other felt as though he was receiving undeserved praise. "I have not heard of house Stone," Galahad said, puzzled, but received the mans hand all the same. "People call me many things, though few know me as Galahad. After my grandfather, I'm told," he explained. "You must be referring to the beast I slayed. I only stand before you, because the Seven saw fit," he smiled weakly. "Great rumors are told of you, Se-... er... Darien."

"And best we keep them rumors." He said, still smiling. "It is a pleasure meeting you Galahad. A good name I find. As to mine own, well Stone is the name for a bastard born in the Vale. My father however was a Royce so I'm hoping to be named thus one day." He mused on that for a moment before continuing. "So, will you ride with the Mander force to King's Landing?"

"From the Vale? The Lands of the Mountains, is what my mother called it. It is my honor in meeting you, Darien. I know not weather I was born a bastard, however I hold no house or name. I hope one day to put honor to my own name," Galahad said, his voice warm with passion.
"I was originally with the Crown force, I'm told," Galahad said. "I have little influence on my place in things. I care not whom I ride with, as long as we both ride for the same purpose," he said, now determined. "My heart is already heavy for fear of my family and home."

"I am sure you will soon be able to make a name for yourself, Galahad. You are still young and there is much time yet to shine." Scratching at his beard, and deciding he would have to get rid of it, Darien took a moment to look around. "I too was with the Crown forces, being Regent of Duskendale until my nephew Brynden comes with age, but the men being so diminished I find I'll stick with the Mander force. I'd be very happy to see you ride by my side. You might even meet my cousin Brandon."

"You honor me, ser. I mean, Darien," Galahad said. It would take some getting used to, for this man seemed to be one of the few men he had met worthy of the title. It was as though the Seven were blessing him.
"I know little of our situation, nor the ways of you... for lack of a better word... nobles," Galahad said, suddenly realizing how clouded he had been all his life. "Tell me... please."

"Ah, well I'm not that knowledgeable on matters of court or nobility, but all I know is that right now we seem to be in a tricky situation. The enemy is already marching on King's Landing and well, I doubt the place will hold before we arrive." He noticed the man looking a little worried so he gave him a reassuring smile. "Of course, we will be facing them with relatively even number, so I doubt we will be dining with the drowned god very soon." He suddenly realized what he had said and looked slightly embarrassed. "Or for that matter facing The Seven for judgment. Apart from that, there is not much I can say... Only to be careful when dealing withe knights and nobles. Some of them may appear nice but have horrible intentions. It's always safe to be suspicious, albeit not in an obvious way."

Galahad noticed the comment of the other God. "Thank you, though it does not settle my worry. And do not refrain from your religion on my behalf, Darien. I am a subject to the Seven, though I do not disdain those who see things differently than I. We have our whole lives to find our own truths, and if you believe you have found yours in... the.. Drowned God? Was it?" he asked.

"The Drowned God it is. You'll mostly find him worshiped on the Iron Islands, where my soon to be wife hails from. It was through her that I discovered what you may call my faith." He chuckled inwardly at how exactly he had come to accept this religion. "One who joins the faith is drowned and reborn, thus coming closer to the god. It's a long story, which I may tell you one day, however for now I will say that it was a pretty frightening experience. I myself had my doubts at first but have now come to embrace my religion. It can be a thing of comfort."

"Yes, it can be," Galahad said, hearing the man. "You are going to marry? From the Iron Islands?" Galahad was slightly confused.

"Asha Sparr is the name of my future wife, and well... she's quite a hand full. If you saw me fighting on the battle field then surely you saw her next to me." He smiled to himself a little, noticing the confused look on the young man's face. "I met her on the Iron Islands, which are off the western coast. Originally I was just going to hire her for her ability with the Axe, but it seems we are destined for greater things." He shut his eyes for a moment, thinking about Asha and the child she was carrying. "So, Galahad. Do you have a girl back at home?"

"She is a fine warrior, and no doubt a great woman, to have captivated you so. But I have not found a woman, no. I have little to offer a woman, as I am but a simple farmer," he said, unhappily. "I have often dreamed of a woman, but I have yet to meet her," he said.

"All a man has to offer is himself, weather he be king or farmer. The right woman won't ask for much, only for your love and that is something given freely." He wondered then when he had grown up from the self-conscious young man who had come to Westeros. "I hope you do find a woman some day. You need not look far - Mostly they just appear in your life and that's it. Enjoy the time you still have to yourself." Realizing he had a rather emotional smile on his face Darien turned his face more into an expression of kindness. "By any means, Galahad, I must be off. There is certain business I need to see to however I might come to find you later for another talk."
