Tristeza folded her arms silently; she would not accept these examples internally, but she did not argue with him. Instead she said only, "If one must make an enemy, Horas Blackwood is the wrong man to choose for the roll. I would not cross him intentionally, nor would I ask you to cross him on my behalf. My son is safe, and as long as this child," she brushed a hand across her stomach, "stays a complete secret, Lord Blackwood will not keep him from me permanantly."

Tristeza twined her fingers with his, and stood gazing up at him whimsically, a small, content smile playing on her lips. Leaning her head against his chest, she said softly, like the way the ocean sounds against a sandy beach, "After all you have given me, I am glad I can finally give something back to you."

He turned to look at her, and put his hand on her belly. "I will love her forever." Then he drew away from her looking back out at the sea.

Sergyo turned and cast one cold look at her, and then turned back out to stare at the rising sun reflected on brilliant blue waves.

Tristeza sighed quietly. "Very well," she murmured, and approached him to place a short affectionate kiss on his cheek, "I love you," she whispered in his ear, and began to walk away.
