7) Character Personal History:
Aldrys was born a Crannogman and raised as a hunter by his father. He lived a simple life in a village so small and so deep in the marsh that even the other Crannogmen considered his village uncivilized. When he was thirteen, he got it into his head that he was a man and ran away from home for all the silly, short-sighted reasons young men leave home. A few weeks and about a few hundred miles south later, he realized that he had nothing but a spear and the clothes on his back in the middle of the wilderness.
So he tried to find work. At first, he thought he might be a sailor, but the salt irritated him. Then he thought he might be a farmer, but the work was too boring. Finally, he became what all children with no home and a good sense of how to use a weapon become; a thief.
But the cities frightened him, and the one time he tried to go into one a guard nearly took his spear, so he kept to the outskirts of cities, preying on the lone and the wealthy, sneaking into cities to trade his gains for food and clothes. Amazingly, till he was nineteen he'd never had to kill to make a profit. One night, that changed.
He had a golden-haired nobleman, some fifth son of a distant uncle of a notable noble by the look of him, at spearpoint, when the man's guard came back from taking a piss. He killed the guard and the nobleman, and ran terrified without taking a thing. He was shaken, and knew he couldn't continue living the life of a thief. So, he became what any young man with no home and a great fear of combat becomes; a mummer.
He spent three years traveling with a mummer's show, learning to act and perform, and it was in this time that he learned a simple truth about all men: they are easily fooled. So he left the troupe and returned to his old trade, but with a distinctly nefarious twist. He put the skills he'd acquired from the mummers to use and became a genuine thief, breaking and sneaking his way into the homes of the wealthy and stealing their possessions. Then, putting his knowledge of human nature to use, he turned himself into the highest form of a thief: a con-man.
He would steal from the rich and the next day sell their own goods right back to them. Moving from city to city, he made himself into a seller of priceless rarities and antiques, many of his wares actually being wholly common. Aldrys, sticking to his tenant that people are easy to fool, spent the past three years not only avoiding capture, but openly displaying his stolen items for people to buy.
8) Character Physical Description:
Taller than the average Crannogman, but only enough that it's noticeable. He has dark brown hair and eyes. He's muscular, but not bulky. He has no distinguishing physical characteristics, and although he has a pleasant enough face he is not particularly handsome. Altogether average and forgetable.
9) Character Reputation: Currently, none.
